"I think it was 816, wasn't it?" Tony tries his best to recall what Victoria said, but that portion of the conversation remains a blur. "That might be it." Stephanie sounds unsure as well, an uneasy expression lining her face. "It's just my luck that something like this happens while I'm on vacation. As life didn't suck enough already." Tony sighs deeply and props his foot up against he wall of the elevator, crossing his arms as they await the elevator to reach its destination.
"You're not the only one with terrible luck ya know. I haven't exactly had a smooth ride lately either." Stephanie begins to say, but the elevator comes to an abrupt stop, interrupting her. "Looks like we're here. Stay close and warn me if you see anything." She nods in response and they step out of the elevator with weapons at the ready, Tony takes the lead as Stephanie watches their flank.
"Looks like 816 is this way, let's go." They set off following an east hallway, taking note of the condition of the floor. It appears untouched, unlike the previous floors. The hallway is painted a pristine red color with gold trimmings along various portions of the walls. Vases and elaborate flowers dotting the hall add to the wealthy ambiance of the area. No telling how much the decorating alone costs for this floor.
"This is it. Let's hope she's still here. Victoria! Are you in there? It's Tony and Stephanie from the bar." Tony pounds as loud as he can on the door, listening intently through the door after several seconds of beating on it. "Do you hear anything?" Stephanie leans in on the door as well but is unable to hear anything within. "No, you think she might already be gone?" Tony hits the door one more time before grabbing the handle, forgoing privacy in the face of what is happening.
Much to their surprise, the door is unlocked and lightly swings as Tony turns the handle. "Whoa, wasn't expecting that." Tony steps inside first and takes in his surroundings. The room is adorned with lavish furnishings, confirming the rumors of the floor being occupied by wealthy guests. "Nice digs, but let's not waste any time. I'll search this half of the room, you take that one." Tony points Stephanie to the right, who willingly obliges. He whistles under his breath at the impressive television mounted on the wall, which dwarfs the small set of his own room. I had no idea Victoria was this loaded. Maybe we should become a little better acquainted after we find her.
A swift search of the first room reveals nothing of significance, save a small amount of spite Tony feels toward his comparatively lackluster lodging. Oh well, it's not like I'll be going back there anytime soon. I didn't leave anything important behind. He proceeds to the bedroom next but not before stopping to examine the view through the large bay windows. Droves of people are swarming the beach, attempting to elude the danger around the them. He can barely make out the unfortunate shapes of people being taken to the ground by others, his imagination filling the gaps of the probably gruesome scene. He nods regretfully before resuming his search, sparing a hopeful thought for those who make it away safely.
"Victoria, you in here?" Tony receives silence as a response upon entering the room. A massive king sized bed wrapped in black silk sheets sits at the center of the room, a singular shape lying in the center. "Victoria?" He approaches the shape tentatively, extending his hand as he draws back the sheets.
His action reveals a sleepy eyed Victoria blinking heavily at the sudden exposure to light. "Tony! What are you doing here?" Her thick Colombian accent posses a slight slur as she speaks, her hands covering shielding her eyes as she comes to. "Stephanie and I came to look for you. The door to your room was unlocked for some reason so we came in." Tony explains her, noticing the empty bottle of tequila lying beside her pillow. "You didn't even hear the announcement did you? The hotel staff said a hurricane was coming and warned everyone to stay indoors. Too bad they were full of shit." He relays to her everything else that had unfolded between now and then, allowing her time to recover and rise to her feet.
"You certainly didn't waste any time." Tony gestures to the empty tequila bottle. "I thought I'd be able to unwind before the concert." Victoria staggers slightly across the room to her wardrobe, wearing nothing but the white bikini she'd had on before. "She's in here Stephanie." Tony calls Stephanie to the room, ending her futile search of the rest of the suite.
Victoria slips on a white shirt and black capri pants, trying to complete the ensemble with black heels. "I don't think so. There's no way you'll be able to run in those." Tony grabs a pair of white tennis shoes and throws them to her. Victoria merely shrugs and kicks off the heels, replacing them with the much more appropriate footwear. She clutches her head behind Tony's back, stumbling as she puts the shoes on despite her buzz.
"There you are. We were worried." Stephanie tells her once entering the room. "Sorry I didn't answer the door, I was asleep." She eyes Tony behind Stephanie, pleading with him silently to keep her drinking a secret. She accepts the explanation as it is and the three of them return to the living room to discuss what they'll do next.

"Goddamn traffic, I knew we should've left earlier." Tom turns down the stereo as he taps the steering wheel, bobbing his head in sync to the music. "Look, they're starting to move again." Maria points to a break in the traffic ahead of them as people begin driving forward slowly.
"About time, feels like we've been sitting here for hours." Tom inches the car forward while keeping a few feet between them and the car in front. The last thing he wants right now is be involved in a fender bender in the middle of such congested traffic. "At least the view is nice." Maria remarks on their being stuck on Angel Pass, the locally named bridge that connects the town to Twin Peaks Resort. Being the only bridge leading to the Resort, it is one of the most heavily traveled roads on Tanui. Though it is five lanes across, traffic jams are commonplace due to the reckless driving of tourists and gangs that make frequent trips between the areas.
"I'm going to try calling Deborah again." Maria pulls cellphone out of her purse, but Tom gently places his hand on hers, pushing the phone back into the purse. "That'll do nothing but upset you again. She can take care of herself, you know that better than anyone." Tom consoles his fiance, who thanks him with a kiss. "Ugh, you're right. All this stress is just going to give me wrinkles." Maria massages her temples just as the car is slammed from behind, causing her jerk forward in her seat.
"Whoa, what's the deal?" Tom unbuckles his seat belt and steps out of the car to check on the other driver. As he steps out, Maria begins to feel a slight knot in her stomach. "Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" She considers calling Tom back to the car, but it might be better for him to work this out himself.
Current time on Angel Pass: 4:20 p.m. ______________________________________
"How much longer are you going to keep us here? I have a right to know." Rebecca flashes her press badge at the soldier guarding the elevator. "I already told you Ms. Chang, I don't know and no, I can't get my CO on the horn." The soldier shuts Rebecca down once again. "Fine, I'll go with this act for a little longer, but only because I'll get my story." She clips her badge back to her skirt and leaves the soldier to look for more promising leads. Alright, I know I can find something in here, I've just got to search for it.
Rebecca is part of a group that has been quarantined on the second floor of an office building in downtown Angel Grove. She was reporting on riots in the streets when a mad horde of people attacked her and her crew. Her cameraman was pulled into an alley while her sound man hopped into the van and drove off, leaving her to fend for herself. She'd managed to get away safely thanks to a convoy sent in by the Army, but she was taken into custody immediately after.
They placed her into a secure transport along with twelve other people and was brought to a hastily set up quarantine center. They ordered the people onto the second floor of the building, where its remaining employees were also being held. The civilians totaled twenty in all by the time a man in a black uniform named Carson McAllister had arrived and told them they would be tested for contamination and given a vaccination.
Rebecca had questioned him on what he meant by contamination, but he simply ignored the reporter and finished his monologue. As of yet, none of them have been tested as the Army is still setting up. Time to get to work.
Where should Rebecca begin looking for a lead first?
Rebecca Chang Vitality: 100% Stamina: 100% Inventory: Dictaphone Current time: 4:06 p.m.
A) Go ask the woman in the black dress nearby a few questions, she identified herself as the office's manager during Carson's speech but Rebecca hadn't caught her name. She might know a little about what's going on.
B) Search the floor for anything the soldiers might've missed, Rebecca might be able to find something about why they were brought to this particular building.
C) Find another soldier to interview, the Private at the elevator wasn't very cooperative but Rebecca may be to find someone a bit more forthcoming with information.
D) Go to the windows and examine the streets below, Rebecca might see something that could give her a better sense of what is going on.
F) CYOA
After selecting a choice for Rebecca, what should Tony, Stephanie, and Victoria do next:
G) Head up to the roof as the man suggested, it is the safest place for the time being, but who knows how long they could be stuck up there?
H) Remain in Victoria's apartment, it's safe for now and nobody else has made it to the floor yet, but it might only be a temporary solution
I) Search for a way out of the hotel, they could scour the floor for some stairs or an emergency passage, but it is the most risky plan.
J) CYOA
Once they've devised a plan, Maria needs to decide what she should do:
K) Call for Tom to get back into the car, he didn't seem angry at the other driver so maybe he'll listen.
L) Let him sort everything out, the feeling is probably nothing and Tom can be trusted to keep his cool.
M) Get out and follow Tom to the other car, at least Maria could keep an things then.
Z) CYOA
Please choose one of each and for anyone new to this, the CYOA is create your own answer. Type out what you think the character's should do and I'll tell you whether it's possible for them to do or not.

C for dat azn chik.
J for Tony. It's like H, stay in apartment and all, but instead, Tony should scour the rest of the floor for something to defend himself and the girls with and for other people. Just anything useful, really.
L for dat worried chick, yo.

I wouldn't mind more consequences for wrong choices. You know, so we have to actually think about things and really read the update before we decide to choose.
Like, say there's four choices in a certain dangerous situation. One choice is the 'right' choice and will get everyone out relatively unharmed, two others might result in injury, and the worst possible one may result in character death.
That's really all I can think to add, but Rai and Veta strike an interesting point about the Composite Zombie and Eden. I wouldn't mind seeing those implemented eventually myself.

Not so much as a request but more of a question. You see, I'm fairly certain the people here have heard of the Walking Dead Game and how your MC has a child to take care of. I was wondering, if possible, could you do something like that? It doesn't have to be a young child so much as just this one constant besides having an MC with companions that has a higher survival rate and impact upon decisions.

Also, since I'll be updating from Rebecca's perspective, I need a vote on how she should approach the interview:
1) Loosen a button on her blouse and try a seductive approach, plenty of people have fallen for it in the past, but if it doesn't work, either by way of the soldiers being too disciplined or she just gets unlucky, she won't get another word from the rest of the unit.
2) Leverage her right to information as a press official again, if the right person buckles under this threat they'll reveal everything, but it could only serve to flare more tempers against her.
3) Play the role of a frightened damsel in distress looking for answers, it's one of the oldest tricks in the book, but it be just what she needs. Then again, she could find a soldier who doesn't put up with such antics and be shut down.

3. The military almost invariably laughs in the face of the press ever since 'Nam. It's probably best if she doesn't act like a news reporter at ALL.

I'm best off looking for another soldier to interview. They're the ones who are best clued in to what's going on. I'd better take the professional approach, I'll save the big guns for later. Rebecca takes a moment to straighten the folds in her skirt and blouse before examining the room for a potential candidate. Most of the soldiers seem to be of the standard meat head variety, none of whom appear as though they'll be particularly forthcoming with information.
She counts six of them in the main annex of the floor, other numbers dotting the outlying offices she can see into. Three of the soldiers meet her gaze with a sneer as she peers around the room, eliminating themselves as possible candidates. The fourth one, the man she'd spoken with moments before, obviously isn't going to be of much help. A fifth soldier quietly takes a puff from his cigarette while staring out a window, seemingly inspecting the carnage on the streets. He's a possibility, but I don't know if I'd be able to get much from him. He looks to know his way around an interview.
Just as she she is ready to give up on this area of the floor, she eyes the perfect victim. A scrawny man compared to his cohorts, he paces nervously back and forth. A pair of circular glasses clash with his uniform, their gold a sharp contrast to the dark colors. Mundane features and unkempt hair tell Rebecca that he probably doesn't have much experience with women such as herself. This'll be almost too easy.
"Excuse me, sir?" She raises her hand and calls to him from across the room while readying a dictaphone to record their conversation. "Oh no!" The man mutters aloud as he attempts to scurry away to the side of a more experienced soldier. " Rebecca quickly darts around the shoulder length cubicles impeding her path and purposely bumps into him, her dictaphone already at head level. Oops, sorry about that. Anyway, I was wondering if you'd be interested in answering a few questions about what's going on in the city.....Corporal Renard." She spots his badge and interjects his name into the opening statement, his eyes growing wider as he finds himself trapped.
"Um...uh...the Sergeant ordered us not to answer any questions the press might have." He diverts his gaze to the ground in an attempt to hide his face. "I'm aware, but people deserve to know what is happening. We've been corralled into this place like cattle and we're practically being kept prisoner."
She bombards him with negative connotations in hopes that he'll buckle under the pressure. "We-well that was for your own safety. You've seen those people rioting out in the streets. We had to get you all away from them." He replies softly. "What do you mean 'away from them'? The man from before, Carson McAllister, mentioned that we've been quarantined and that we'll have to receive vaccinations of some kind." Rebecca feels that she's now on the right track.
"I did-I didn't mean anything by that! Those people aren't well is all I meant." He promptly shuts his mouth before another seasoned soldier comes to his aid. "This interview is over. No more questions." The new soldier grabs the rookie by his forearm and pulls him into a side office, slamming the door behind him. Rebecca merely smirks as she places the dictaphone back into her pocket. So it's got something to do with the rioters. It's not everyone that's sick. Looks like I've got a lead.
Just as she begins to relish her victory, the elevator dings, the sound magnified by the room's acoustics so that everyone hears it, and McAllister steps out. "The vaccinations are ready. No need to form a line, we've taken the liberty of devising a prearranged order. First is Deborah Gonzalez. Men." McAllister motions for the two heavily armed men accompanying him to find the woman and bring her to him.
Rebecca hears a gasp from behind, looking around to find the woman in the black dress frightened for her life. Well, this isn't good. It doesn't appear as if the soldiers know who she is as they ask person after person for their name. Rebecca might be able to help the woman hide if she so wishes.
Rebecca Chang Vitality: 100% Stamina: 100% Inventory: Dictaphone Current time: 4:16 p.m.
A) Whisper to Deborah to duck into one of the side offices, Rebecca can intercept the soldiers with a string of questions to delay them while she thinks of a better plan.
B) Allow the soldiers to take her away for the vaccination, though she has her doubts it's not like Deborah is in any real danger.
C) Fake an illness so they'll take her away instead, this could be her chance to get close to McAllister so she can question him directly.
D) It looks like the man behind the soldiers isn't feeling too well.....
I'd suggest that you consider this option carefully. What is McAllister going to do with them? Are they safe enough just waiting there? Just consider this a warning.

Rebecca notices the sickly man beside the soldiers but fails to comment as they pass him by. This is all it takes for him to strike. The pale man releases a ghastly moan as he lunges for the closest soldier, bypassing his heavy body armor and biting his neck. He screams out in agony as his partner bashes the assailant in the head with the butt of his gun. The ghoul's grip holds strong however, taking his victim to the floor while continuing to draw blood.
"Damn it all!" The standing soldier swears under his breath while drawing his rifle, aiming for the head of his target. He places the barrel against the back of the man's head and fires, killing him instantly. His partner mutters a barely audible remark before succumbing to his wound, dying in a matter of seconds. "Bastard!" Enraged, the still living of the pair unloads a burst of shots into the assailant's corpse one more time before taking aim at his partner's head.
"Forgive me." He fires a clean shot into his forehead, preventing him from rising once more. "What was that?!" Rebecca blurts aloud after watching the exchange unfold in a matter of seconds. "That's what we were trying to prevent with the vaccination." McAllister replies before anyone else, stepping forth to the soldier's corpse.
"A tragic loss, but one that could have been prevented had you all cooperated from the beginning. Now we have no choice but to-" A loud shot breaks McAllister's speech, a dumbfound expression on his face as he looks down to find a gaping, bloody hole in his stomach. Another shot rings out within seconds, this time striking him in the forehead. "We're under fire!" One of the soldier's shouts, scrambling to take cover as a torrent of gunfire begins filling the air.
Rebecca immediately drops to the floor, her experience in a similar situation previous to this kicking in. "Get down!" She shouts to Deborah, who nearly takes a bullet to the head as she follows the reporter's instructions. Lead and voices ring throughout the room as the attack unfolds from every direction. Rebecca swiftly crawls to a soldier's corpse and relieves him of his handgun though it does little to alleviate her mounting fear. "Follow me!" She motions to Deborah to follow her into a side office where the windows are still intact.
__________
"Keep firing, you're not out of ammo yet!" A wicked voice cackles over the roar of gunfire to his men on the roofs. "What do you think you're doing? We want to clear the room, not waste all of our ammo before the op even begins." A second voice calmly states in contrast to the harsh tone of the previous speaker. The men know better than to interfere in the argument, a lesson they've learned all too well by this point.
"Hold your fire! That's more than sufficient. I want three of you to secure the entrance, two to remain where you're posted, and the rest to assist in flanking the building. We're after the vials on the ground floor." The unseen voice commands from afar, observing the entire scene from as afar not unlike a circling raven hunting for his next meal.
"Alright, you heard the bastard. Looks like we're moving in." The rough voice smiles to reveal rows of yellow specked teeth, the result of years of neglect and tobacco abuse. The full team of eight operatives, if they could be called that, begin to move in position as a silver, serrated blade is raised into the air....
__________
The room Rebecca and Deborah have taken shelter in remains entirely untouched throughout the attack, their unseen aggressors' main focus having been on the largest room. Rebecca waits several seconds after the last bullet is fired before daring to raise her head. Everybody that remained in the previous room is either dead or mortally wounded as the sounds of the dying permeate the air.
"Oh my god....they're all dead." Deborah almost breaks down into tears, but Rebecca quickly snaps her out of it. "And we will be too if we don't hold it together. I have a hunch that whoever was responsible for this will be here before too long. We've got to go now."
"But where?" Deborah quivers, but she takes Rebecca's words to heart and exits the fetal position she had begun to undertake. "You're the manager of this office, right? Where are the stairs and is there a fire escape we can access from here?" Rebecca asks. "Uh...yeah, there's a fire escape through the window in the next office or the stairs are in the southwest corner of the main room." Deborah does her best to maintain her composure. "Okay, that gives us a few options...."
Rebecca Chang Vitality: 100% Stamina: 95% Inventory: Dictaphone, 9mm handgun (12/0) Current time: 4:23 p.m.
Entourage: Deborah Gonzalez: Nothing
A) Head to the next office and attempt to exit via fire escape, hopefully they can avoid any form of hostile presence on the way.
B) Attempt to dash to the stairwell, the elevator is on located along the northern wall so their chances of being seen by anybody coming from that way are slim.
C) Take a stand and fire on the next person that comes out of the elevator, Rebecca can see that somebody is already on their way up but she has no way of knowing if they're friendly or not.
D) Dab their hands with the blood of the fallen in the main room and sprawl themselves across the floor, it's a long shot but maybe they can fool whoever is coming by playing possum.
E) Remain hidden in the current office, they can hide behind the desk the as it is large enough to obscure the both of them. Maybe their attackers won't be very thorough.
If you choose A or B, which direction should they go?
1) Head toward the roof and flee to another building, the architecture in Tanui is clustered like that of a third world country and the buildings are only a few feet apart, just long enough for people to move through the alleys yet short enough for travel via rooftop.
2) Take the stairs down, the fire escape would drop them directly into the adjacent alley while the stairwell would take them to the ground floor, neither a very welcoming prospect but it'd be the quickest way to escape.
Also, should A or B be chosen, who will assume the lead?
3) Rebecca, she is the more level headed of the two at the moment and she has the only firearm.
4) Deborah, she seems to be able enough and she knows the building and area the best.
One more thing, should they attempt to get another weapon or more ammo? It will take precious seconds should they do so, but it might also prove invaluable in the near future. Post Yes or No in your vote for this particular choice.
Choose carefully, they're in one hell of a jam and it's possible their every move is being scrutinized....

Since I'm bored and brainstorming, I'd like to take a poll. Concerning Tony in the hotel, who would you prefer to wee survive: Victoria or Stephanie? If you want to remember what they look like, I will refer you to the second update On the first page. Now I ask this about Rebecca: Should she survive for the time being or receive a pretty little headshot as she does in Dead Rising 2?

Can we have both? I'm a fine of surrounding our MC with a bunch of hot women...then again there's no such thing as immortality...I guess Stephanie.
And have Rebecca survive...for now I guess.
