Name of faction: officially named "Free Russia", it is often pejoratively referred to as "Anarchist Russia".
Aims and ideological affiliation: Anarcho-communism or anti-authoritatian Marxism. The faction's affiliation is not clearly defined although its aims are: to destroy the reactionary forces of the Ultra-Nationalists and the Russian Provisional Government, restore peace and freedom to Russia's people and achieve social equality and democracy.
Current leader: ex-General Nikita Orumov.
Location/territory:A large area around Volgograd that goes down to Rostov and Astrakhan. Free Russia's territory also expands towards the Urals along Kazakhstan's border up to the town of Samara.
History:Founded at the start of the Second Russian Civil War in 2012 with the mutiny of Russian forces stationed around Volgograd. They were lead by general Nikita Orumov, who, tired of seeing her people get thrown about like pawns in bloody conflicts, decided to try and free Russia. Her little rebellion grew after they declared themselves a "revolutionary movement" as anarchists, communists and socialists joined her to fight the Ultra-nationalists and the military dictatorship of the Russian Provisional government.
The war was of course very hard and bloody, and twice Free Russia was almost defeated and destroyed by its foes. In 2015, the Free Russian army defeated the Ultra-nationalists at the battle of Samara, pushing them back to Eckaterinburg. The Provisional Government was also beaten a few miles outside Moscow and it seemed like the Free Russians would win.
Contrarily to predictions, Free Russia signed peace treaties with its two enemies. They had all suffered badly during the fighting, and were too weak to achieve total victory.
Current international, military and economic status:
Shunned by most of the international community, Free Russia is isolated from the world. Despite this, it is slowly recovering from the damages of the war, rebuilding factories, houses and secure from famine due to being situated in "Russia's breadbasket". Militarily the Free Russian army isn't very impressive, but is still sizeable. It is mostly equipped with Soviet weaponry, vehicles and aircraft as well as a few more modern additions.
