Gabe's Dungeons and Dragons Campaign
Or.
How to Kill a Party in Six Sessions
As I've told
It was All Black... Everything.
But anyways.
I started the party at half health, surrounded by Orcs, and in the middle of the desert. They managed to fight their way to the Orc Leader and engaged in a bloody battle before the Orc Leader retreated in a Desert Skiff with the remains of her crew. Two people were knocked unconscious and the healer was literally on the brink of death, sitting at -9 hit points.
They recovered, trekked through the desert for 2 days(With 3 passing out from heat stroke and having to be carried) before they finally arrived at a Oasis that served as a stop on the desert's trade route. They slept the night, but a Sand Dragon swooped down in the morning and decided to nest beneath the fort that protected the Oasis. After that, several (better)Adventurers charged in after it. The Commanding Officer of the Fort sent the party down to check on the Adventurers. They arrived and fought off several hordes of mummies as they descended into the dungeons of the fort(the repurposed ruins of the old fort it was built on top off).
The found the Adventurers, who had been turned into undead and fought them, sustaining major wounds. They then faced down the dragon, and thanks to some lucky dice rolls, they beat him with only their Fighter taking negligible damage.
They party proceeded confidently to face down the Necromancer. The Necromancer's Death Knight guardian decimated the party. The rogue(Who had tried to sneak up on the Necromancer) was nearly killed by the Necromancer and Death Knight's special abilites(The Death Knight could attack any person that attacked the Necromancer as a free action). When they finally downed the Death Knight, the Necromancer turned his full attention to them. Doing massive damage to the entire party before they were able to bring him to 1 health. The party then(Mistakenly) killed him.
After phat lootz the party ventured to a nearby City, failed several exceptionally important Gather Information and Diplomacy checks before being sent after the Orc Raider that attacked them in the beginning.
After carving a bloody swath through an Orc City(Awful at Diplomacy checks... just god awful). They encountered the Raider Leader standing next to an Orcish Chieftan and his two Eteranl Orog Death Knight Honor Guards.
If it wasn't for the groups leader making an exceptionally well played Psionic attack, the group would have perished there. In then end, only the Rogue stood standing.
After healing themselves as best they could... they found themselves surrounded by an entire city of orcs. They fought their way to a landing where the Orcs kept Hippogryphs. They stole several and managed to escape the city before the badly wounded birds plummeted from the sky. After several run ins with Orc trackers, the group finally made it to the next City. It was here that they finally got a knack for Diplomacy checks.
It was also where they group's Paladin was almost slain, fighting his arch nemesis. After a bloody battle against skeletal warriors, the group arrived in time to save the reckless Paladin, only to be faced down by a massive Dracolich.
Several agonizing turns later the group stood victorious over the Dracoliches corpse... At the cost of several hundred Militiamen and Guardsmen's lives...
Lemme Name the Party and the De Facto Chain of Command they made...
