I, for one, kind of miss this place. It was the best place to get my creative juices flowing, and I honestly got along with most of the other users here. Now that The Walking Dead has returned, I'm even back in a zombie mood. This site is at the saddest state I have EVER seen it in, and it seems we could all use something. Seeing as Fog Glen never got the attention it needed, what else could we possibly do?

We;re all too depressed over what happened in The Walking Dead's latest episode. You know, with the zombies eating the rival team's T-Dogg. They tore off C-Dogg's face, man! We need time to deal.

That, and Fog Glen was super meh. I propose a zawmbie RPG that doesn't require map cross referencing so it's easy to jump into.

I propose we destroy Steam's servers as that is where everyone is at.

Look around, mate. The undead are pretty much staying dead. We've mostly moved on to other stuff.
That said, a zombie RPG isn't entirely improbable. But I must admit I still have a bit of a sore spot since you took one look at what we had for Fog Glen and then immediately tossed it aside, despite saying you were open to new ideas. People asked for a zombie RPG and Rie and I tried to give it to you, then you tards pretty much just bashed it for no reason -- despite being told repeatedly that it was just a rough outline and we wanted more ideas for it. Hence why it 'never got the attention it needed' and was 'super meh' (yes, I didn't miss that fucking snarky remark of yours, Rai). Neither of you had the decency to really pitch a few ideas and see how things went, so don't you come back in here with your goddamn non-chalant, drive-by remarks when neither of you fucking bothered to begin with.
Dead Rising's atmosphere is old, tired and decrepit. We've moved on. And I swear if I have to go through Willamette's mall again I'll gouge my eyes out. If you want another zombie RPG that bad, then think of something new and robust -- living in the past glory of old RPGs nobody gives a shit about anymore just isn't going to do anything. I would say give Fog Glen another chance, since it never truly got off the ground to begin with.
Ah, but no. I'm certain you won't. Rather it will, more than likely, just suffer the same treatment it did beforehand.
While we're on the subject, Sylar, no offense in what I'm about to say, but fucking decide if you're staying here or not. If you're back for good, great. If not, then coming around and getting people hyped for some distant RPG isn't really what we need. You have a very nasty habit of starting some shit and getting everyone into it, then disappearing without a trace and leaving us to our own devices...then you return months later and wonder why the hell we didn't bother. Well now you know. And I'm tired of it. Make up your damned mind.

I think there's also the problem of us getting older. I don't mean that in a "We've grown up and our imaginations have been stunned by overdoses of Xanax" kind of thing, but we're all busy.
When I joined I was in high school and had much more free time than now. A lot of us are working full time or studying full time or will be soon. Hence why most RPGs crash so soon now. I'd love to join one, but I sometimes don't have time to read through pages of posts and then write my own. That's the reason I never got into Fog Glen, when I finally had free time from uni it was dead.
But I don't want this place to die. I quite like you guys. You're the first internet community I grew attached to. So I still try and come here if I have a question on whether to get a game or discuss something.
What we really need is more people. I'm telling you, we need to grab whoever we can get from The Capital Wasteland. Of course, that place may have died since my last visit, but eh.

I would say we should get into recruitment mode, but we look so dead that newbies never stay. And the ones that do suck bawls (*Coughs*Izzy*Coughs*) So first we must establish an RPG, get every tard who's still around who usually never posts (Kawng, Roj, Aussie, Gabe, Zomby, Myself, pretty much erryone but Rie and Ace) to post for awhile and rake in the newbies, then the RPG economy should be self-sufficient enough to the point that I can just sit in the cbox, draw comics, and bash newbies like the good ol days. inb4 worst plan ever As for Fog Glen, I suggest we move it somewhere more interesting. Small town dun work too well imo. Also, rename eeht. Fog Glen just sounds like a place old people go to crap their brains out and die. Need something less vomit inducing and something moar not vomit inducing, like Merchantville or Merchant City. Possibly even Merchopolis. The possibilities are endless.

Well, let's go through a list of places we can use. It has to be in an easy to traverse area (not a county or capital city or whatever) and it can't be a mall, else Ace will go postal.
- An airport might work.
- We could also have a cruise ship. Maybe the backstory is most of the country/world was infected so survivors were evacuated to these boats. The one we were all on was infected.
- I like making lists of threes, but I can't think of any more right now.

Well, no offense Ace, but fuck you. I was on board with Fog Glen after some convincing. I was wary at first, because RPGs that required maps and such never really took off in the past, but I was on board to go with it if it started...but it never really did. I try to stay here, but my life tends to interrupt every so often. First it was my dad fucking dying, then my fiancee dumping me, now my mom has fucking lupus and I'm having to pay a shit ton of bills. I've always seen this place as an escape when I get a chance to return, but the past several times I've been able to it's been pretty much dead or focused on Warhammer or other shit I have little interest in. Fog Glen is exactly what I would like right now.
I understand you being upset with my stubborness or unwillingness to try something new, as I admit that is a flaw of mine, but fuck you for thinking my inability to be here on a constant basis is a reason to be upset with me. I'm just going to take my business elsewhere.
EDIT: And who the fuck are you to criticise me when you didn't bother with Fog Glen either. Nobody ever posted after Rie started the thing.

Didn't bother? I helped WRITE the thing and lay the very foundations of it. If that doesn't constitute as 'bothering with it' then I don't know what the hell does. Fuck me. And you weren't on board to begin with -- you wanted to go ahead with the Willamette Mall again, remember?
Your stubborness, simply put, is the WHOLE reason I'm upset with you personally, not part of the reason. While I'll admit I do find the 'gone for months' thing a tad annoying, at best, it really just doesn't factor in to my being upset. Though it does factor into this whole entire RPG thing, which is the topic at hand.
I don't know about anyone else here, but I just can't fully wrap my head around the concept of you starting any RPG with this much shit going on in your life. I'm not going to pry here, because it's not my business, but really, just as the most honest advice I can give at this point, it seems like you have a lot more to worry about than an RPG on some message board. Which is why I said what I said. There's no real need to get everyone's hopes up if your schedule just can't allow you to be here to -- if nothing else -- check back at least every three to four days. It just disappoints everyone here at large. And makes them even more disillusioned when RPGs come to mind.
Dunno if you'll even get this or not, but whatevah. I for one have said my piece either way, whether the 'audience' is empty or full. Like I said, if you're back, then great. I'll be the first one here to welcome you back to the fold. But if not...then oh well. Sorry if that sounds callous, but that's just the way it is.

C'mon now, children. Fuck you this and fuck you that doesn't halp nobody. Unless it's directed at Kong of course, then it's just fine. We must focus our angst and hatred toward something productive, like making a mediocre RPG that will have Shakes in it at some point a kewl nu RPG that will last throughout the ages.
Now to begin brainstorming:

I'm not feeling Fog Glen and all of that small town shit as of yet, so I say we do Z-Day again, but with a better everything. As in, different type(s) of zombie, less isolated setting, etc.

I apolgize for lashing at ya, Ace. The past couple months have been stressful, but after this past weekend, I think I've fought my way out of the funk. My workload is significantly lightened and my recent state of debt has been fixed, which means I won't be so irritable in my free time (which I will have much more of).
I am also sorry to both you and Rie for being so againt Fog Glen. I honestly don't remember why I was so against it, because right now it seems like a good idea to me. If executed correctly, I think we could actually make it as interesting as Alt Zday was. Our main issue is getting enough of the other members to actually participate. I'm looking at you Veta, Rai, Aussie, and Roj haha.

Dirty fooking bastards make fun of me eh? WELL FUCK YOU ALLLLLLL. But seriously, welcome back Sylar if you are back. Perhaps if I'm not fucking lazy I'll hop in the Fog Glen thing with possibly the revival of Jaymz, or I may just make a brand new character; Stay tuned.

You'll have to get with Rie for confirmation though; I be grunt RPing this time around.

I haven't been around that much since I'm starting to be more and more busy. You know, college scholarship essays, college admission paperwork, girlfriend, and surviving advance placement in English IV. I'd much rather spend what time I have on finishing games I have lying around, but hey. I'm starting to think- After reading Rai's idea- I suppose I could join for a few spells, post a little to get the RPG going and find places to advertise, then.. Well, I don't want to promise too much, but I also don't want to say I'll abandon this thing like a birth defect baby in Asia. And actually, a thought. Why not let people use their imagination rather than use a map at all? It's far better than constantly updating a map whenever people have an idea for a building and such. Really, keep the distance ambiguous, keep the location ambiguous-ish, just have a general outline for people to follow. If someone needs a place, they can make a place themselves in a post. Oh, and I agree on changing the name of Fog Glen. How about Merchantpolis- *is shot* Didn't Aussie post a list of names in another thread somewhere that had good names for cities somewhere on here? Oh yeah, I'm up for his idea of a cruise ship. If anyone else is interested too. EDIT: Here's the thread containing Aussie's list. livingdeadrpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=thelegendliveshere&action=display&thread=2789Okay, it's from a generator, but he did go through the trouble of picking out the sveat-sounding names.

I know that I just flat out lost the heart for writing. After the slow decline of this place and multiple failed attempts to join other rps, I've just sorta drifted back to this place. I'm going to be working fewer hours in the coming weeks so's maybe I can join in on a new rp if one is started.
