Character Name: Sam Ryley
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Birthplace: Chasim, Nevada
Physical Appearance (Photo or description): Dark-Brown Short Straight Hair. Scar on hand from motor incident, leads from forearm to back of hand. Good build. Average looking for the most part. Clothes explained in RP.
Good or Evil (Pick one from the following: Lawful, Neutral, or Chaotic. Then pick one of the following: Good, Neutral, or Evil.): Good, Neutral.
Strengths: He's of good strength, and a very willing participant in anything that can help further him and others. Could handle the recoil of a gun given a bit of practice, but accuracy would be a problem since he's never used one. Can fix minor things or things like cars, as he works with his father in his father's repair shop.
Weaknesses: He worries about the situation far more than he should, rubs scar when worried, same as when he's lying or nervous. Bottles up most of his anger, so he never really yells or expresses any sort of negative emotion. Not a leader, has no leadership qualities. anxiety issues in the past have led to him having stomach or pain in chest/torso in general problems when stressful events occur. extremely trusting.
Weapon Of Choice (Within reason): A blunt object he can swing. Could make a makeshift flamethrower given the supplies and use it properly.
Personality: nice and kind-hearted individual. if he can find a way to assist, he will. tries to see the bright side of things. overall he's very trusting and nice to even complete strangers.
History: He was born in a middle-upper class family without any siblings, his father was the proud owner of multiple repair shops across america, most of their money came from this. His father always spent time teaching his child the basics of repairing things like cars, bikes, boats, anything that had a motor and moved. His life was good, and he was happy.
Growing up, most of his friends walked over him, his personality wasn't exactly one that let him stand up to them. Due to this, he was a pushover and jumpy when he was younger. They'd pressure him into doing things he didn't want to because of this.
In highschool he wasn't all that popular. He was still a pushover, bullies would tease and bully him. Due to this, he developed anxiety issues which had a very negative effect, causing pain, and uncomfort.
One day, the last year of Highschool after a particularly hurtful event involving a trashcan and toilet, he walked out of the bathroom and knocked over a girl. He apologized, picked her up, and asked if she was okay. And when she was up and they locked eyes, something clicked in him. After a second or two of awkward staring, she asked him if he was okay. She said she recognized him from a couple of her classes. They exchanged each others names, her's was Sara Aurora. Sam and Sara walked to their next class, talking to each other before departing.
After awhile they had become friends, talked once in awhile texting and hanging out. With him hanging out with her, the bullies stopped bothering him and his stress issues died down. They became really good friends toward the end of the year, but Sam felt something different for her, he liked her more than a friend.
As prom neared, he decided to advance their relationship and ask her to it. He mustered up the courage and asked her one day when they were walking home from school. She looked uneasy, and took a deep breath, saying she'd think about it. Sam smiled and they continued to walk along their merry path. As the prom came closer, he decided to ask her again. She stared at him for a second before saying okay.
Prom went great, afterwards he drove her home and nothing happened, to his disappointment. A couple of months passed, they slowly drifted back and forth, talking sparsely. He made time to pay more attention to her. His hopes of college were quickly dashed, so all he had left was her. She already expressed a disinterest in college.
Time passed and then he decided to make it happen. He was sitting next to her at the park, both relaxing, with her drifting off. He took a chance, with both of them alone in the park, and he asked her if she would be his girlfriend. Comically getting down on one knee. She chuckled, wearing a half smile, both were speechless. Sam waiting and Sara almost frozen. Finally she uttered the word he was hoping for. "Okay". With that he felt like his dream had come true.
Months pass. He managed to save up enough money for a nice house for Sara and himself, with some help from his father. It was better than Sara's terrible apartment.
Their relationship bloomed as time passed, for Sam atleast. Sara was less enthusiastic. She still treated him like a friend excluding a kiss or two on rare days, keeping herself distant. She would almost never sleep in their house, came home late, or be away for nights on end, not sending so much as a text. Sometimes not even acknowledging it had happened. Even with this, she was his, and he was happy.
But he got suspicious the more she left. Her birthday was coming up, and he took some money out of all he saved and rented a cabin out in the woods in a place called Fog Glen. It didn't cost much and wasn't as populated as Chasim. He had to win her heart, and this was the perfect way.
Location At Time Of Outbreak: Rented cabin in the woods with Sara, is now away from it.
