Blood seeps through the cloth along a man's brown shirt, almost making a straight line all the way down to his arm. The line of blood slowly slips open almost looking like skin as it reveals a green-blue silver insect. It crawls from his arm to his feet with it's long, twitching arms to walk to a mirror in front of the man. The man's skin pulls back to reveal more of these beasts. They pull themselves from the skin as the skin melts off of the insect's form turning quickly into a liquid substance, dripping as they approach the mirror.
They stare into the mirror, but the view from behind the mirror allows no vision to what the insects see. Only a brown piece of cardboard. They move closer and closer to the mirror, touching each other and moving to put their faces, what they would call faces, into the mirror. They start aggressively hitting each other and hissing as each tries to push themselves into the mirror.
They tear at each other, racing for the mirror each time another gets close. As they tear, a laugh in an almost musical tun-
"My head." A young black haired woman wakes to find herself laying in sand with a pain in her head. She moves her hand from the ground to the side of her head and back, only for it to reveal a bloodied palm. She puts her hand to the ground, lifting herself up in a panic to see the destruction around her.
A brown haired man with blood running down his back lay on the floor his hands outstretched towards her. Off in the distance she could see a fire, two figures in front of the fire throwing something at approaching crowds of people. On the other side of the crowd, she could make out a dog in the crowd of people. Her eyesight wasn't reliable due to the blur of just waking up. The night didn't help either.
She turned around, seeing a large amount of palm trees and grass which led into an almost jungle area, large quantities of bushes and more trees led deeper into the darkened area.
In a panicked state, she went to the man and flipped him on to his back. She started to slap him lightly on the face, "Wake up!" She yelled, hoping for answers. The man was unresponsive but breathing. She looked back up to the fire in the distance, the large group seemed to be following something and the two shadows had disappeared. They walked off out of her vision, leaving the woman with just this unconscious man and nothing else.
As she stood over the man, she kept thinking "What is going on?" almost unable to think of anything in all the panic and rush of what was going on.
Then she remembered. Nothing. Who was she?
A moan rose from behind her, a man who was in very bad shape wearing a blue long sleeve T-shirt was hastily making his way to her.
"Hey! Can you please tell me what's going on?" The woman asked, standing up to greet the incoming man.
He immediately took her friendly dialogue as an insult, grabbing her and attempting to take a bite out of her hand. She pulled her hand away and started to move back, not getting two steps before he promptly crashed into her, causing her to trip over the man on the ground.
"Get off of me!" She yelled, putting her hand her his forehead and pushing back as he attempted to eat her alive. She used her free hand to punch the man in the throat. Stunned, he let go for long enough for the woman to push him off of her. She crawled back, climbing to her feet and kicking sand as she did so.
The blood on her head started to drip over her eyes, she quickly wiped it off to see the man attempting to chew on the man lying on the ground. She grabbed him and pulled the biting man off and tossing him to the ground.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" She screamed at the man, the scream only angering the man as he scrambled to his feet to charge her again. She stumbled back as he did in an attempt to dodge, he tripped over her foot landing neck first on the floor, a sickening crack almost echoing.
"Oh no." She thought, did she just kill someone? "It was in self defense" She told herself.
A gurgled moan came from the broken neck as he stood up, his neck hanging off to the side of hide and a bone poking the skin of his neck out.
"What in the world?" The black haired woman asked under her breath, slowly standing up as the thing once again fixated on her, shambling to her. She looked around on the ground, nothing but sand. She backed up, looking for something to hit him with. A small flat and round rock partially buried in the sand caught her attention. She pulled it from the sand and readied herself as the man approached.
When he got close enough, she hit him with the rock in the neck. It stunned him once again but he kept coming. She backed up again and took another swing, hitting him once again, but this time in the head. Like a brick he fell to the floor, a quick gurgle of blood before making no more sounds.
She dropped the rock and ran back to the grounded man, shaking him.
"Please wake up!" She yelled, hoping her yelling would help.
After a minute of the unresponsive man not waking up, the woman gave up. She, on her knees, looked around at her surroundings, she needed to do something.
A) A little father off she could see a bright light suspending in the air. A street light? Go over there.
B) The jungle from before was still nearby. There could be something on the other side.
C) There could be something along the water, or a view of houses or people. Anything would help at this point.
She looked down at the man, who seemed to be alive but bleeding from his head the same as she had been. He started to mutter unintelligible things, a clear word or two coming out. He could be the only person who knows who she is.
1) Attempt to carry the man to your destination, he can't be too heavy right?
2) Stay with the man until he wakes up so you can find out what he knows, he could be useful.
3) Drag the man by his arm through the sand, it would be easier than carrying him and he'd probably wake up quicker with sand, dirt, or asphalt being drug across his face.
4) Leave him, he knows nothing.
