Weaknesses: Ever since he was a child, Sam has had a problem with anxiety and stress passed down from his father. Any negative emotions could lead to pain in his torso including his stomach or chest, so Sam's learned to bury them as best he can. He's usually successful in doing so unless it was something he couldn't hold in which would be extremely rare. Sam trusts far too easy, so he could be easily manipulated into doing things. He wouldn't sacrifice another's life for his. He's not the type to actually take his anger out on others, unless it was something that made it extremely angry, he would not openly express his anger towards people.
History: Sam had a mother and father much like him. Both of them, having grown up in a small quiet town, had different values than most of the people of Chasm. Chasm was a city filled with mostly rich and wealthy men and women. The only reason Sam lived there is his father's garage was based out of Chasm when Sam was born. It had since gotten a few more spread across the United States.
Sam, at 8 years old, started taking an interest in his father's work. Starting with a still-running motor that Sam took interest in as his father left to attend to other matters. Luckily the motor hadn't been running at full speed or Sam would only have a single arm. Sam, now terrified of the thing that he thought almost killed him, vowed to stay away from those machines of death for the rest of his life.
At age 10, his father showed him how motors and engines, the death machines Sam feared, weren't all that bad. Sam warmed up to the idea of working on cars. The older he grew, the more skilled he got with various types of machines including things like lawn mowers, fans, and anything even remotely similar to a car.
Sam didn't have too many friends, and the friends he did have exploited and walked all over him. Sam's self esteem wasn't exactly helped by all this. This eventually lead to him finding out about his issues with stress and anxiety. Sam would feel intense pain if he was too stressed out. He didn't tell anyone, he felt if anyone knew he would've gotten teased even more.
As Sam finally got to highschool, he found that the kids there really didn't like him. The ones he saw as "friends" saw him as a punching bag. He got bullied and there wasn't much he could do. When he'd bring it up with the vice principal, it was the majority that won. Sam tried his best to ignore them, or push them out of his life completely. It never ended that way. The bullying continued for a couple of years.
One fateful day, Sam walked out of the bathroom covered in toilet water and still shaken up he bumped into a beautiful black haired girl knocking all of her books to the floor. Sam hurried to pick them up, offering to carry them to her class for her. The entire time, Sam was entranced by her. She was beautiful. Every time she looked at Sam, Sam would peek back behind the books, then she'd smile. He couldn't even begin to hide how nervous he was. As they arrived at her class, she took the books from him and introduced herself as Sara. Sam introduced himself before she went into her class. She was all Sam could think about for the rest of that day.
A couple of days after, Sam at in class ready to learn when Sara sat next to him. She introduced herself again and Sam, feeling like fate had smiled down on him. Sara seemed genuinely interested in Sam. Talking to him, hanging out with him, taking interest in him. Sometimes she would even flirt, telling him how she liked his hair and then ruffling it with her hands. Sam eventually felt safe enough with her to confide in her. Tell her things he never told even his closest friends or family. The more he told her, the less she seemed to talk to him. Sam, feeling he did something wrong, wanted to make it up to her.
As prom came close, he knew Sara had no date yet. She was so focused on college and it gave him the perfect opportunity to ask her. The first time, she said she had to think about it. Sam waited a little longer, giving Sara ample time to think, then asked her again. As soon as she said yes, Sam was happier than he had ever been. His life was changing, for the better this time.
Prom wasn't what Sam expected. Sara seemed to want to talk to others more than she wanted to talk to him. But Sam managed to get a dance from her. She seemed to want o leave. Sam couldn't shake the feeling that she didn't even want to be there. That she just wanted to be somewhere else. Sam took the hint and drove her home afterwards. She thanked him and he went back to his life. He was still working with his father in the garage. Sam was surprised when, some time after the prom, Sara called needing a place to stay. Sam had managed to buy a house with help from his father and it was just perfect for both him and Sara.
Sara seemed to be happy living with Sam. She worked her shift as a waitress and Sam worked with his dad. Sara seemingly got more and more depressed, every day she'd come home and do the same thing. Sam decided to take a chance and ask her if she would be his girlfriend. Sara seemed a bit startled but said okay, which made Sam even happier.
As time passed, Sara started to act stranger. She'd come home late at night, drunk and looking like she was in a fight with a tornado. Sara would come back later and later and sometimes not even come back until the next day. She'd act increasingly suspicious and wouldn't tell Sam where she'd been.
A year later things were still the same. Sara would act odd and still do the odd things she had been doing. Sam, while home from work, got a call from Bekka, Sara's and by extension, Sam's friend. She wanted to come visit Sara. Sam and Bekka set up a time for Bekka to surprise Sara and Sam would take some time off to relax himself.
Not even a full week after Bekka had left, Sara seemed a lot different. She stopped leaving in the middle of the night. She would actually lay in the same bed as Sam and tell him how much she actually cared for him. The sudden change in mood and in their relationship was odd, but Sam loved it. He never had an actual relationship, but now it looked like he finally did. With the girl of his dreams.
Sam, 24, found out that his father needed a manager for his new car garage in the town of Willamette Colorado. He suggested to Sam that him and Sara move down there. Sam wasn't sure about the idea at first, but Sara seemed all for it. Willamette was a breath of fresh air. It was much different from Chasm, normal people lived there instead of the snobby rich folk that inhabited their birthplace.
Sara soon found a job singing, which she always loved to do. Sam loved to hear Sara sing, she had the voice of an angel. Every time Sam showed up, Sara would always dedicate a song to him. One of Sam's employees and close friends suggested he tie the knot. Sam didn't know at first if he even wanted to tie the knot. strain their relationship. But he saved up and bought one of the most expensive rings he could buy. He surprised her backstage with his proposal and she said yes. Not even 2 weeks after he proposed, it seemed like the dead started to walk the earth.
