Character Name: Anastasia Axoacatzin (or 'Ana' for short)
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Birthplace: Las Vegas, Nevada
Physical Appearance (Photo or description): Anastasia is what one would call a pretty girl, with light brown skin and long, dark cherry red hair which reaches her shoulderblades when not tied back as it usually is in a long ponytail, while her long bangs frame her face. Her eyes are blue and she wears little in the way of makeup, save for a bit of eyeshadow. She wears a pair of worn black leather cowboy boots, along with a pair of faded form-fitting rodeo jeans with a huge rip in the right knee and a simple black tanktop overlaid with a white button-up shirt, which is kept unbuttoned with the sleeves rolled up, and two gold diamond earrings, one in each ear, along with a tight black choker necklace. In terms of overall physicality, she stands at the relatively short height of 5'2" and weighs 95 pounds, making her slender, lithe and small.
Good, Evil, or Neutral: Good
Strengths: Owing to being a military brat, Anastasia knows her way around most firearms, and finds them fascinating -- both to break down and to use. While she herself will rarely use anything larger than a pistol, she understands how automatic rifles work and can explain how to use them if need be. She is something of a crack shot, as people who like guns tend to know how to be able to use them, and she can defend herself admirably with a knife if need be. She is also capable of fist fighting a little, having been in her share of scraps in school, but she won't last long against a trained combatant. Many years on the track team at high school have made her fast and agile, and she is capable of climbing, vaulting or sprinting over things that others would have trouble with.
Weaknesses:
Owing to her small frame, Anastasia is not a particularly effective physical attacker on the whole. While her blows are capable of stunning normal humans sometimes, they are not too terribly effective against the undead, who are more or less incapable of feeling pain anyway. This also applies where larger firearms are concerned; any weapon with a great deal of recoil will blast out of her hands at best, or fly up and smack her in the face at worst. Her confrontational attitude tends to grate on the nerves of the people around her, as does her general inability to open up to others, making her slightly difficult to be around characters who are extroverted.
Weapon Of Choice (Within reason): Any small-calibur firearm, from pistols up to submachine guns, as well as a knife.
Personality:
A loose cannon of various emotions, Anastasia can be safely considered a strange one. Known amongst her small circle of friends for her smarmy and sarcastic remarks, along with her introverted, distant and relatively cold attitude, she continually keeps others at a comfortable distance for her, and is hesitant to divulge most personal information about herself even amongst friends. Having raised herself for most of her life due to her parents being completely unable to be around most of the time, she is self-reliant and independent in the extreme, and is not one to ask for assistance for even the most serious of matters. When it comes to survival and dealing with hostility from others she can be surprisingly brutal and cut-throat, a mentality she gained from hearing her mother's war stories from Chechnya, although she is hesitant to leave others behind to die in most circumstances.
Her 'tough, quiet girl' persona hides a person who has simply had a rough life and been forced to grow up too quickly and just wants things to go her way for a change, even if that means occasionally stepping on a few toes or ruffling a few feathers. There is a slight Russian accent to her voice whenever she speaks, something she inherited from her mother, and she is capable of speaking a few words of the language, although these are generally limited to swear words. She is understandably bitter and a little angry about the circumstances in which she was forced to grow up in, and tends to find at least a little common ground with people in similar situations. Tough, dependable and level-headed, she can be counted on to make a decision if no one else can -- or to make the decisions that nobody else wants to make.
History:
Born to a pair of full-time soldiers, Anastasia's life was one of relative solitude and annoyance. For most of her early life, she was bounced around from relative to relative, as her parents were often deployed to some random part of the world and unable to raise her themselves for the most part. After moving about and changing schools more than one person should ever have to, she finally grew old enough to where her parents considered her capable of living without immediate adult supervision, and thus she was allowed to stay in their family home in Vegas all by herself.
This new-found independence would bring its own set of problems along, however, as Anastasia quickly learned that maintaining an entire household at the age of fifteen was an extremely stressful and nigh-impossible task, even with monetary support from her parents. It left her little time for friends or even to go out on her own outside of the occasional after-school club or the track team. At times the bright neon lights of the city that never sleeps flashing through her window was her only companion, and this would become her life for a few years, leading to her vice of smoking and her fascination with firearms, which she would routinely disassemble and put back together in an attempt to intricately understand how they worked, and she began taking time out of at least each week to practice with them. While not necessarily helpful at the time, it would come in handy later on. Her parents supported it, happy to know that their daughter would be able to defend herself during her time alone in a city filled with criminals and drug addicts.
At long last, during one summer break, Anastasia finally grew restless enough to finally get out of the city that had become her prison for the very first time in years. While she had no idea where she was going, she knew she didn't want to return to Vegas for as long as she possibly could, and after getting lost several times on the interstate, she eventually found herself in the small town of Stricton, Texas -- the site of a zombie outbreak, of all things.
