Character Name: Emily Christoph
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Birthplace: Ontario, Canada
Race: Human
Physical Appearance (Photo or description):
5'4” and 121 pounds, Emily often wears chemises and long skirts when in the shop or on the job. Another example of clothing would be a favorite oversized hoodie with white wing motifs on the back, a chemise with an embroidered design, baggy blue jeans with ripped knees and white converse and black and white striped fingerless arm warmers.
Good, Evil, or Neutral: Good
Strengths: Good with computers, but usually has more luck than skill involved. Holds her own in a fight, but can easily be overwhelmed. Puts things together if they’ve fallen apart, making her well-equip to make improvised weapons.
Weaknesses: Questions a plan she doesn’t deem suitable, often leading her into trouble when irritability is already high. Goes off into tangents of imagining impossible things, usually at a time where she should be doing her part. Has a slight fear of heights.
Weapon Of Choice (Within reason): Shotgun, pistol.
Abilities: Has the ability to read tarot cards as part of her job, and also possesses slight extra sensory abilities. She can feel when something is 'off', and will occasionally see things, but her abilities are not nearly as strong as they could be.
Her limited extra sensory abilities make it difficult for her to pinpoint the source of something at times if the trace is especially faint.
Personality: Happy-go-lucky, sarcastic and cynical. Those are the three things Emily is often described as. She can be sweet and easy to get along with, but also grating on your nerves with her worst-case-scenario talk when things get especially rough.
She likes to name certain possessions in an effort to feel close to them, but she also feels it makes her unique in her own way.
Emily has never felt bad about sensing things, but thinks she would probably feel differently if her abilities were stronger.
History:
Emily was the daughter of a businessman and a chef. With her upbringing, she was wont for nothing; she got most of what she wanted, and lived in a nice house with nice cars and nice things. But unlike other well-to-do kids, she wasn’t flaunting her money, she was busy photographing things and pasting it into scrapbooks, being with friends and generally enjoying life as if she wasn’t ‘rich’.
She had always noticed things others didn't seem to see. She never really looked into it until seeing a late-night program on TV about various psychic abilities, and went to the library the next day. Emily spent the entire afternoon reading various books until she came across one explaining the various types of perception.
It had never been a thought in her mind that she was crazy, but it was vindicating to actually have an answer to exactly what she was experiencing. After this, she began to collect books about psychic phenomena and supportive skills, also learning how to read tarot cards as a way to challenge herself, but it also became a soothing practice.
Emily started running a small store in the old guest house next to hers with money she'd saved from part time jobs, birthdays and holidays that stocked goods geared toward meditation, cleansing, as well as books that contained information about psychic phenomena. The main draw of the store was the readings Emily would perform in the back room.
