The name is such that I need to waste time. Do not comment if you find the story shitty, I don't give a damn and know that it may be poorly written due to haste.
I don't even care anymore. John's thoughts are of hopelessness and desperation as he flees from the massing throng of hobbling corpses. Nothing conventional seems to be able to stop them, he witnessed the most promising of humanity's weapons fail.
The National Guard made a grand stand against them in Dallas, where everyone was sure they would halt the advance of the horde. The outbreak seemed to originate in South America and swept forth to Mexico until it finally struck the southern most state.
The towns on the border fell swiftly, with no word of warning being cast from the United State's neighbor. The morning of October 24th, 2009, is when the epidemic was finally realized. Washington mobilized quickly, but not properly, for the battle. They sent troops to face down the zombie plague but the outcome was a hellish nightmare.
Infantry was slaughtered as zombies broke the ranks, gnawing through their thin body armor as though it were merely an extra layer of flesh. John had been on the same street, where he still is as of right now. "Get going!" He exclaims to an obese man blocking his path, his massive form bouncing with every step.
He takes the initiative by shoving past the blob, much to the dismay of the people nearby. Screw the lot of you. He finally has room to maneuver but where can he go? The city will be overrun shortly and he has no way to reach his truck.
Vitality: 100% Inventory: Car keys, Cell phone Entourage: Nobody important
A) Take cover in a nearby building, it's the most logical plan but pretty boring B) Cause havoc in the crowd, it might do some good to incite even more panic among these frantic people C) Fall into formation with a group of fleeing women, they seem to already have a destination in mind.... D) Find a human shield, bait would be a good idea about now E) Call someone in John's phone, it's hard to select an individual but he might get lucky and dial someone helpful

Without any particular destination in mind, John falls into step with an attractive set of fleeing beauties. No need to romp about the city by myself. A sly grin on his face despite the murders around him, John remains inconspicuously close to his targets.
Whilst running, he takes the time to note their characteristics. Two of the women are easily distinguishable by their rather exotic garments and similar skin tone. The duo is Hispanic and both women seem to be running in a similar fashion. Hmm, they must related.
The third in the group is clad what appears to be a waitress uniform, complete with a name tag and apron. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, but her actions betray her mood. Each step is accompanied by a whimper and glance over the shoulder, no doubt to fruitlessly check up on the zombie's progress. Progress that remains slow, steady, and deadly.
The fourth and seemingly final of surrounding females is wearing a simple outfit, merely a white tank top accompanied by hip hugger blue jeans. Her ethnicity is a mystery to John, she could be either Hispanic as well or of middle Eastern decent. He lacks the time necessary to judge though as the four of them veer sharply to the left and into an establishment called J's Bar.
John follows once more, utilizing the confusion as a cover to slip inside with them. "Barricade the door." He suggests, not surprising the women with his voice. They've well noticed him by now, making the situation much easier for all of them.
"With what? There's nothing sturdy enough in here to hold many of them back." The blonde woman replies shakily. "We can stack the tables and chairs as best we can for now unless anyone has a better plan." He retorts logically, easing her somewhat.
They all pitch in until a majority of the furniture is blocking the glass door, there's nothing they can do about the windows though. "Just lower the blinds and we'll have to remain quiet." John says after hauling the chair into position. He and one of the Hispanic women drop the blinds slowly then step back. Okay, that's done. But we really don't have much of plan.... Guess I better take it upon myself to comfort these frightened women.
"Seeing as we're stuck here for the time being, I'll go ahead and introduce myself. John Dillion's the name." He breaks the ice with a quick introduction, hoping that his new comrades will follow suit. "Nice to meet you John, I'm Nicole Lynx." The woman in the tank top rises to her feet and shakes his hand first, her voice and attitude confident unlike the waitress.
"I'm Isabela Keyes. It is a pleasure to make you acquaintance, John." The hispanic woman in the white shirt speaks first, nodding to John from across the room. "Leaving me out, Issy? Fine then. Cynthia Velasquez at your service. You'll have to excuse my cousin, she takes herself a bit too seriously." Cynthia tells John after moving nearer, thrusting a curvaceous hip his way. He admires her physique as long as she will allow which, unfortunately for John, is not long.
After she struts back to her cousin's side, John awaits the last of them to give her name. "C-Cindy Lennox. I actually work here at J's." She says timdily. "Glad to to meet you, Cindy. I suppo-" John cuts himself off midsentence, not realizing how long it took them to barricade the door. They frantic screams from the street have stopped and only the faint groans of the undead can be heard. Their silhouettes move erratically in the windows and across the bar floor, setting everyone on edge almost immediately.
John can do little at the moment besides check on each of his companions.

Of the four women, Cynthia seems to be putting forth the most effort to garner John's attention. Catching onto her occasional glance, he makes his way to the bar where she is seated precariously on a stool. "So Cynthia, what do you make of all this?" John asks after taking a seat himself.
"What do I make of it? Hmm, it's difficult to say. I thought, like most everyone else, that we'd be witness to a swift victory. It was the opposite of what I was expecting though..." She allows the thought to trail, bringing to mind the gore of the soldiers as they were cut down before everyone's eyes. "This really ranks up there in the five shittiest situations I've ever been in." John quips to lighten the mood. Cynthia chuckles in appreciation at his gesture before rising to her feet and rounding the counter.
"I need a drink, would anyone else care for one?" She inquires in a hushed tone to everybody in the room. "Pass me a beer." John replies almost instantly. "I'll have a gin and tonic." Nicole says next, her eyes glued to the windows. "Consuming alcohol wouldn't be a good idea right now." Isabela warns though the trio simply shrug her off.
Cindy, on the other hand, seems to be opposed to them helping themselves to her place of employment's beverages. "That's stealing! I can't believe you all are so casual about it." She cries a bit too loudly. "Keep your voice down." John shushes her as several of the shadows stops outside the door. Oh shit.
A few moments later, three pairs of decaying arms burst through the glass door and flail their arms at the barricade. "Fuck! Cindy, get over here!" John orders as even more zombies join their compadres at the door. In a moment of poor judgement, Cindy had made the mistake of seating herself directly adjacent to a window, allowing for easy capture at the hands of the undead.
She screams as a pair of discolored hands shatter the glass above her and wrap around her neck, attempting to drag her to her doom.
"Oh my god." Nicole gasps and slowly begins to back away from the door, too horror stricken to assist the waitress. "John help her. I'll an eye on these two." Isabela tells him from behind, gesturing to Cynthia and Nicole. He nods in response and scans the bar for anything that could be of help.

B) Quickly break a beer bottle and use that to stab the zombie, it may release her if John acts swiftly
C) Tell one of the others to help her, it would be suicide to charge a possible wall of zombies
D) Convince the others to abandon her, John can feign an attempt to help to persuade them that there is nothing they can do
E) Douse the front of the restaurant in alcohol then light it ablaze, John saw a box of matches on the other side of the bar....
F) Push Nicole, the nearest of the remaining women, into the fray, she can distract the zombies as John assists Cindy
G) Wave farewell and leave all of the women behind, they're all easy on the eyes but they may only serve to hinder John if he remains with them

Without giving it another thought, John rushes into the action. Cindy's face has lost a lot of color by the time he reaches her, the zombie's strength far exceeding that of a normal man. "J-john.." She coughs as he attempts to pry the cold fingers from her throat. "They won't budge!" John exclaims frantically, losing precious time with every passing second.
Cindy finally loses consciousness after several more seconds of fruitless fingering, sealing the warrant on her death. "NO!" John shouts at the top of his lungs as the zombie drags her upper body through the window, once again shattering the remaining class. He clasps her heels and digs his feet in to the ground, his shoes skidding across the slick ceramic floor.
"You have to let go John." Cynthia calls as he too realizes how close he is to the window. Damn it all! He grudgingly releases the waitress, who will at least perish without any pain. John retreats to the counter with the others, ignoring his current frustration with himself.
Zombies have begun to pour in through the window now, Cindy's body already lost in the sea of corpses. "They'll follow us up the stairs if we don't do something to stop them." Isabela observes, even the steely Hispanic woman's voice is laced with fear now. She motions toward a door near the rear of the bar. The only thing we can do to the stop them is torch the bottom floor...

A) Toss as many bottles as they can then light the alcohol ablaze, otherwise they'll be pursued to no end B) Retreat without doing anything, it's too risky to perform such a maneuver After voting on that situation, I need a second choice for what John should do: C) Take the lead, he feels he has the best chance in this position D) Allow Isabela to lead them, she has a level head and wouldn't panic at the helm E) Ask Cynthia to take point, she could distract the zombies if they were to encounter any F) Permit Nicole to the helm, she might surprise everyone

"Toss as many bottles as you can, we need to cover this place in alcohol so it'll burn." John leads by tossing the first bottle of flammable liquid, striking the floor coating a few planks of wood. The others follow suit, chucking bottle after bottle of liquor at the bar entrance.
Once the entirety of the shelves have been emptied, John lights a match and throws it at the pool of alcohol. Flames burst forth and engulf any zombies unfortunate to be standing in the pool, their flesh searing almost instantly. But much to their dismay, the zombies do not break into a panic. They merely shamble forth, now covered in deadly fire.
"Holy shit! Go go!" John pushes the women to retreat to the rear of the bar, taken completely by surprise at the turn of events. "In here." Cynthia is the first to reach the door and holds it ajar for everyone. Nicole is the last to enter, slamming the door behind her as more zombies stagger directly into the blaze. "What in the world are we facing?" Cynthia quivers though she still maintains her composure.
"I have no idea but we don't want to be here when they reach the door. The only way to go is up the stairs. Come on." Isabela bravely takes point, believing the threat to behind them. "You're Isabela, we better get going." Cynthia smiles at her cousin and nods to John and Nicole, both of whom are not opposed to the plan.
Not even Isabela could foresee what happens next. As they approach a point where the stairs bank sharply toward the second floor, an ominous window masks the threat. Isabela nears the window nonchalantly, her back to it when the lying in wait strikes. It lunges through the glass and grasps her shoulders, dragging her backward with inhuman strength. Cynthia staggers backward in surprise, unable to react quickly enough to assist her cousin.
Nearly as quickly as she was attacked, Isabela is spirited through the window with little more than a scream. "ISABELA!" Cynthia cries as her cousin disappears up the fire escape. "What should we do?" Nicole asks uneasily. She looks to John for an answer.
Vitality: 100% Inventory: Car keys, Cell phone Entourage: Nicole Lynx: 100% Cynthia Velasquez: 100% Isabela Keyes: 90% for now
A) Pursue Isabela, she's doomed if John doesn't follow quickly B) Abandon the latina, they have to keep moving to escape the flaming zombies C) Tell Cynthia to go after Isabela, John will stay behind with Nicole and wait for her D) Ask Nicole to seek out Isabela, John will comfort Cynthia in the meantime E) Have all three of them follow up the fire escape, it will be slow going however
Be warned about A, John will leave Nicole and Cynthia behind but it may be necessary to rescue Isabela.

"Nicole, head after Isabela. I'll stay behind with Cynthia to make sure nothing follows you out the window." John asks, completely dumping responsibility to the surprised young woman. "M-me?! I-I guess. I don't even have a weapon though." She retorts meekly. John is quick to remedy her complaint, fetching a broom from the corner of the alcove where the stairs turn. "You can use this to stab it." He breaks the handle across his knee at such an angle that it leaves a sharp point on one end. "Okay..." Nicole gazes pleadingly at John one last time, whose attention has now shifted to the grieving Cynthia. I'll be the shoulder she can cry on. Can't pass up an opportunity to comfort a beautiful woman, can I?His second head now doing the thinking for him, John moves closer to Cynthia as Nicole proceeds through the window. "It'll be okay, Cynthia. Nicole will find Isabela and bring her back in one piece." John curses silently at the somewhat cruel statement, he needs to choose his words more carefully. She obviously caught his remark and instantly becomes wide eyed with fear. "Isabela is the only family I have left. I just don't know what I'll do if anything happens to her." She chokes back a tear while turning her back to John, forcing herself into a corner for a desperate bid at privacy. "I promise you that nothing will happen. It was only one zombie and your cousin looks like she can handle herself. The only reason it was able to drag her off was because it caught us by surprise. I bet she's already broken free and is helping Nicole to put it down." He says while remaining rooted to the floor, she obviously wants some distance between them. "If you say so..." Cynthia quiets and an unavoidable awkward silence descends over them as John's plan almost backfires. This is not the way I foresaw this happening. Nicole must be taking her sweet ass time anyway. After what seems like an eternity, Cynthia is unable to contain her anxiety. "I'm going after them." She vaults through the window at her closer position before John can catch her, her heels clacking against the stairs as she heads upward. "Cynthia wait! Son of a bitch." John curses and follows her frantically. "Aaagh!" Her screams reach his ears moments later. While still climbing, John looks up to see what has happened. Cynthia wrestles with a zombie that had been lying in wait, backing swiftly toward the rail. John picks up his pace but is too late as they both careen over the edge, plummeting several feet toward the ground below. Shit!Luckily for Cynthia she is able to grip the rail two floors below John but only with one hand. The momentum from her abrupt stop warrants a sharp whimper of pain, nearly draining all her strength. She clings desperately with one hand as a crowd of zombies have already begun to gather below. Just as he prepares to come to her aid, Nicole screams from within the room on this floor. Peering into the window, he sees that she is surrounded by two zombies in a very small room. Isabela is still nowhere in sight though. The broom handle is gone and the only thing between her and a gruesome death are her outstretched hands. Vitality: 100% Inventory: Car keys, Cell phone Entourage: Nicole Lynx: 80% Cynthia Velasquez: 50% and draining rapidly Isabela Keyes: A) Head back downstairs and pull Cynthia up, one of her fingers has already slipped from the rail B) Bust in the window and aid Nicole, John may be able to distract the zombies and hopefully Cynthia can hold on for a few moments longer C) Say goodbye to the women, John can head to the roof and out of harm's way on his current path Z) CYOA
