"All right then. Cindy, let's go get that key. Isabela, Cynthia, Nicole, sit tight until we get back, it shouldn't take too long. Do what you can to delay those bastards." Before setting off, John picks up a bottle of liquor and shatters the bottle, arming himself with a makeshift shank. "Just in case." He warns Cindy, skipping no possible precautions at the moment.
They enter the rear door across from the restrooms, the area becoming eerily silent after they close it. "I always hated coming up here, it's so quiet." Cindy says as the stairs creek beneath their feet. "I see what you mean, this is just one of those kinds of places." Not to mention the fact that I have a bad feeling about just coming up here.
John's intuition is right on the money upon approaching a window at the turn of the stairs. A zombie bursts forth from the window, having lain in wait for who knows how long. It attempts to grab John and drag him through, its rancid breath blasting up his nostrils. He struggles against its superior strength, failing to escape its grasp as he unsuccessfully maneuvers his arms to a more advantageous position. Luckily, one of the zombie's hands slip, allowing him to bring the sharpened bottle to level. He drives it into its eye, the soft flesh slicing as the glass pierces its skull.
The zombie falls backward, allowing them time to escape up the stairs to safety. "How the hell did it get there?! That means those bastards can climb ladders." John exclaims in response to the ordeal. "As if we didn't have enough to worry about." Cindy complains in an exasperated tone.
Once they arrive upstairs, Cindy directs John to the lockers. "It should be right in here." She rifles through the contents of her own lock, ending with a worried expression on her face. "It's not in here. J must have moved it. I can find it, just give me a little while." She begins sifting through the other lockers and contents of the break room. Shouts from the first floor say otherwise. "We may not have that long." John replies, eager to go check on the others.
"Go, I'll be fine. Nobody else was up here." She states confidently. Maybe...

"I'm not leaving you here by yourself." John reluctantly remains upstairs, listening intently until the shouts fall silent. "I hope they're okay...." He mutters to himself as Cindy continues her search. "It's not-Aha!" She exclaims triumphantly, reaching into a locker on the floor and retrieving the key. "Got it, we can go back down now." Cindy says eagerly, beating John out of the locker room.
"Not just yet. I need another weapon." He solves this by cracking the handle of a pushbroom with his foot, creating a small but potentially lethal wooden spear. "This should work for now." Cindy nods, turning her head at the wrong moment. A zombie sneaks out of nowhere and grabs her by the shoulders, shaking her violently to lower her guard.
John can't reach the zombie due to Cindy blocking the doorway, forcing him to give the waitress a slight shove. She stumbles back and leaves herself vulnerable, the zombie catching onto this quickly. Just as it is about to sink its teeth into her flesh, John jams the shaft into its ear, running its brain through in one of the luckiest moments of his life. Phew, that was a little close for comfort!
Cindy squeals as he pushes the zombie away, hugging John momentarily as thanks. "That's twice now, let's not make this a normal thing." She chuckles nervously before they descend the stairs again.
They reach the bottom floor to find all hell has broken loose. Zombies have penetrated the window and overrun the bar, packed into a concetrated horde near the front door. Nicole grapples with a heavyset zombie that is nearly twice her size, which drags her into the women's restroom and out sight.
Cynthia and Isabela have their own problems as well, both women cornered behind the bar by a contingency of five zombies, all of which are packing rotting muscles. Those zombies look a bit flimsy, a decent sized projectile would probably be able to take down at least a few of them, but Nicole'll be torn apart by that zombie in the restroom. It's do or die time, what should John do?
Vitality: 95% Inventory: Car keys, Cell phone, Bloody wooden pole Entourage: Nicole Lynx: 93% and dropping, Cindy Lennox: 90% Cynthia Velasquez: 92%, Chair Isablea Keyes: 88%, Broken beer bottle
A) Rush into the restroom to help Nicole, she shouldn't be left to be manhandled by the zombie
B) Lift a table and toss it at the zombies encroaching upon Cynthia and Isabela, they can't hold off that many zombies by themselves
What should Cindy do: 1) Head into the restroom to assist Nicole, she could possibly distract the zombie
2) Try to toss something at the horde near Isabela and Cynthia, she might not be able to lift a table but she could try something else
3) Have her remain back, John doesn't want her putting herself at risk
If you vote 1 or 2 for Cindy, should John give her the pole just in case?

Thrusting the pole into Cindy's hands, John states, "Go help Nicole, I need to assist Isabela and Cynthia. Go!" He pushes the waitress toward the restroom then proceeds with his plan.
Isabela slices a zombie with the beer bottle, who feels nothing after the attack. "Screw this!" She growls, finally stabbing in the same fashion John did previously and kicking it to the ground. She roundhouses another zombie and knocks it off balance, allowing her time to check on Cynthia. The other Latina thrusts the chair at a zombie's jaw and withdraws, dodging a swipe from the side.
As the duo fights, John hefts a table above his head, grunting as he takes aim. He tosses it at two zombies standing in close proximity, flooring them and creating an opening to escape. "Come on, now's your chance!" John shouts afterward. "Let's go." Isabela pulls her cousin along, who drops the chair as her hand is yanked. "Cindy's in the restroom with Nicole, they need our help." He directs them to the women's room and enters first.
There, Cindy has stabbed the zombie in the spine, but it has yet to relent. Nicole's head begins to droop has it repeatedly smashes her against the wall, seemingly playing with its food before eating. "Leave her alone!" John leaps onto its back in a wild gamble, certain that he will be pulverized before all is said and done.
"He'll need our help, he has no way of hurting something that large." Isabela beckons the other women to follow her, leaving John and Nicole alone for the time being. He punches at the undulating folds of fat but his fist simply bounces away harmlessly.
John hears a crash outside followed by the return of the trio. "Stab it anywhere." Isabela commands, taking the first strike with a new, sharpened stake. Cindy and Cynthia follow suit, stabbing it and removing the weapons to strike again. The zombie finally succumbs after several more iterations of the assault, landing on its knees and remaining there.
John quickly drops to the ground and frees Nicole, who as suffered substantial injuries. "M-my shoulder hurts like hell, but I'm able to walk. Might not be able to fight for a while though." She tells John as he massages her shoulder, wincing at the slightest touch. "You're right, you won't be handling anything heavy for at least a few hours, the bruising will take even longer to heal." Isabela states, surprising John with her medical knowledge.
"She's a medical technician which is just fancy for nurse." Cynthia chimes in proudly, placing her hand on her cousin's own shoulder. "That's fine and all but- Whaa!" Cindy jumps back as a zombie wanders into the restroom and nearly grabs her. John reacts swiftly by removing his original stake from the obese zombie and stabs it in the torso, pushing until he shoves it into a stall. "We've gotta go NOW." He slams the door shuts after removing the stake, motioning for the women to move.
They return to the bar to find it packed with almost double the zombies in the short time frame they were in the restroom. "This is insane!" Cynthia exclaims as they are spotted. "Open the door Cindy." John states while engaging the first zombie. He shoves it back to conserve energy, but it remains persistent. The door clicks open and they flood into the loading dock, slamming the door behind them and locking it back.
"We should-Oh damn it." John moans upon witnessing the state of the dock. Zombies have somehow swarmed into it as well, perplexing him until he sees their way of entry. The large shutter, the only entrance besides way of the adjacent stores, is wide open, allowing easy access for the undead. "We'll never be able to reach the truck now." Nicole says negatively, exasperated by the thick horde ahead.
The layout of the loading dock is simplistic but works against them. They are situated on an elevated platform six feet above the bottom of the floor which is teeming with zombies. A ramp to the left lets out onto the floor but no zombies have found their up it yet. To the right a storage rack with three levels runs the length of the wall until the corner. The truck is all the way at the rear of the loading dock, an expanse of over thirty feet of undead terrain between them.
"Not exactly, there's a vent system that's really wide we might be able to climb through, but it's not easy to reach." Cindy points to a vent covering nearly four feet wide resting over ten feet into the air. A storage rack only rises to five feet below, requiring a way to cover the rest of the gap. It could take too long to find something to reach it, assuming there's even a ladder or something similar we could use.
Vitality: 92% Inventory: Car keys, Cell phone, Bloody wooden stake Entourage: Nicole Lynx: 75%, Bruised shoulder Cindy Lennox: 88%, Broken chair leg Cynthia Velasquez: 91%, Broken chair leg Isablea Keyes: 87%, Broken chair leg
A) Find a way to reach the vent, it's the only safe solution but, as John said, it could take a while to complete if they are even able to
B) Bide their time and make a break down the middle of the floor, the way the zombies are moving, this will happen soon but it will be dangerous
C) Hop onto the storage rack and follow it around, maybe it will allow them to reach the truck unharmed
D) Send someone forward as a distraction, the others can make a break for the truck as they bait the zombies.......
E) Return to the bar, they can fight their way upstairs and formulate another escape plan, the loading dock is just too populated
If you vote A, who all will scavenge for the materials further away (it will require them to jump down to the floor) Choose as many as you wish: 1) John 2) Nicole 3) Cynthia 4) Isabela 5) Cindy
If you vote B or C, how should they proceed: All at once or in a line? If in a line, what order: 1) John 2) Nicole 3) Cynthia 4) Isabela 5) Cindy
If D, who is the bait....: 2) Nicole 3) Cynthia 4) Isabela 5) Cindy
A few of the extra requirements may seem pointless, but trust me, they matter. A few things to take into mind are that Nicole won't be able to handle heavy objects easily and that whatever happens to Cynthia will affect Isabela and vice versa.

"No, that vent's just too high to attempt to reach. We'll waste too much time trying to stack shit up to reach it. We can follow the shelves here to the end of the wall and try to reach the truck from there. It's a hell of a lot closer than charging headfirst through the horde here." John notes realistically, trying to sound somewhat positive. "Then let's go, I'm ready to be out of here." Isabela states, already standing by the shelves with Cynthia.
"I'll go first and help anyone up who needs it." John climbs the three-shelved storage rack with little difficulty then glances toward the delivery truck now that he has a better view. It may be an optical illusion, but now it seems as though there are even more zombies wandering the floor. "I think you're right, Isabela. We should hurry." John says matter-of-factly, concealing his surprise with a flat explanation.
Nicole comes next, followed by Isabela, then Cynthia, and finally Cindy. Lined up in that order, they traverse the shelf as quickly as they can. John tips over the heavier objects stored on the shelf, flattening three to five zombies at a time below. Take that you bastards, it's not much but at least it gives me some gratification.
Upon reaching the corner, they find themselves eleven feet above the ground and the truck still a considerable distance away. "Okay, what we need to do now i-" John is cut off by the swaying beneath his feet. The rack is beginning to shake violently along with the entire building. "An earthquake?! What the hell!" Cynthia exclaims as she hugs the wall for support. John clutches a metal beam jutting up from the rack, his thoughts mirroring Cynthia's.
The tremor continues as rack shakes even more violently. John realizes their platform won't be able to hold much longer, forcing to make a move. "The shelves are about to give way, we need to jump! There's an opening directly below so now's our best time." Leaving the women staring at him as though he were crazy, he lunges headlong into the horde.
John lands on his feet then rolls forward, dispersing the shock through his body. "Come on! You'll be crushed if you stay up there!" He shouts over the rumbling, keeping an eye on the surrounding zombies. Nicole nods and leaps next, landing in much the same fashion as John. He leads her to the truck without any difficulty, helping her into the back as the cab is wide enough to seat only two people.
Isabela lands on a zombie and impales it through the spine, relishing the slight victory all the while. She tries to wait for Cynthia, but the zombies have other plans. As the rack collapses back near the way they entered, they herd her toward the truck and away from her cousin. "You've got to jump Cynthia!" Isabela shouts encouragement from the delivery truck after climbing into the cab, assuming the position of the designated driver.
Back on the rack, Cynthia and Cindy both peer down reluctantly. "Let's go together, okay?" Cynthia smiles nervously to the waitress, who returns the gesture. They take each other's hand and jump. Cynthia lands on the corpse of Isabela's victim while Cindy tumbles to the right, grounding two other zombies. Their landings weren't as graceful as the others, but they are uninjured. "Run!" John shouts, needing to remind them they are surrounded by flesh-eating drones.
Isable beckons them to hurry, and they do until it all falls apart. Cynthia is engulfed in a circle of zombies only a few feet from the rear, three of them raking at her viciously with their nails but not biting her just yet.
Cindy is taken to the ground further back, a zombie having lunged through a grate in the ground to grab her ankle. It drags her slowly to her doom as more zombies gather around, some even bend down to prepare to tear the waitress apart. Damn it, what should we do? Try to save them or leave 'em behind?
Vitality: 90% Inventory: Car keys, Cell phone, Bloody wooden stake Entourage: Nicole Lynx: 73%, Bruised shoulder Cindy Lennox: 83% Cynthia Velasquez: 79% and falling rapidly Isablea Keyes: 86%, Broken chair leg
A) Try to help Cynthia, she's closer and John might be able to get the zombies off her in time
B) Rush back to aid Cindy, she'll be lost if the zombie drags her into the grate or possibly torn open if the other zombies act prematurely
C) Gesture Isabela to drive away, she hasn't seen Cynthia yet so he could deceive her.....
D) Leap into the crowd of zombies around Cynthia, John will land on top of her but it could be the best way to save her from being bitten.
E) Look back in the truck for something to toss toward Cindy, though there's unlikely to be anything other than baked goods in i
If you vote A, B, D, or E, what should Isabela do: 1) Charge into the crowd of zombies attacking Cynthia, she could clear some of them away as long as she reaches them in time 2) Maneuver to where Cindy is, she's a considerable distance from the waitress but she might be able to reach her in time 3) Remain in the cab of the truck, she has yet to look back for some reason......
Now what about Nicole for A, B, D, or E: 4) Attempt to pull a few away from Cynthia, she might not be able to attack them very well, but she could at least provide a distraction 5) Dash to Cindy and try to remove the zombie from her ankle, Nicole could possibly accomplish that much 6) Remain in the back of the truck, there's not much she can do without a weapon and her bruised shoulder
This particular scenario will affect every single character so be careful with your choice..........

"Nicole, I'm going to clear a path, then I want you to take Isabela and go help Cindy." He requests of Nicole. "Okay, but how do you plan on doing that?" She asks curiously, ready to make herself useful. "Just watch." John takes a step back then charges forward, leaping out of the truck with his body outstretched.
He collides with the crowd in a cross body manner, flooring Cynthia as well at least half a dozen zombies. "Oof!" The Latina moans directly under John's torso, her landing padded by the corpse of a rather sturdy zombie. "Go now!" John exclaims to Nicole, who promptly hops out of the truck and does as he says. Isabela, having seen John's high-flying bravado and Nicole's sudden departure, surmises his plan from afar.
As John and Cynthia rise in the tangle of limbs, she nods wordlessly in her passing. At least I can count on one person to understand. Hell, that's more than could be said of my normal life before this.
"Get up, Cynthia. Come on, you can do it." John encourages, pulling on her hand as she comes to her sense. "Oooh, give me a warning next time you try something like that, please?" She oddly requests at the moment, garnering a smile and small chuckle from John. "Can do, now let's get up into the truck. Nicole and Nicole should be back soon." He assists Cynthia in climbing into the rear of the truck, John will let Isabela handle the responsibility of driving for now. She's up to the task, I know she is.
Meanwhile, Nicole avoids the clutches of the undead until she reaches Cindy, at which point she lashes at the zombie under the grate. Her kick busts its fragile jaw but does nothing to halt its abduction of the waitress. "Whaaa!" Cindy screams as the zombies gathering around claw at her relentlessly, ripping her top at the stomach and nearly swiping her skirt away. Nicole whimpers and backs away, believing it to be hopeless for Cindy.
Much to her relief, Isabela arrives and dispatches of the first zombie, swiftly stabbing it in the jugular and ripping the stake out. Cindy screams as blood splatters onto her face but avoids swallowing any. Nicole helps her push away the other two zombies, allowing them to live only because they wish to get away. They help Cindy to her feet and nearly drag the injured waitress back to the truck.
"Up here, Nicole! We got ya!" John and Cynthia hoist the woman into the rear of the truck while Isabela and Cindy take the cab, the truck roaring to life seconds later. "We're out of there!" Isabela bellows proudly, blasting out of the dock and ramming any zombie foolish enough to be in her way.
John pulls the shutter-style door closed in the rear and takes a seat against the wall, letting the hum of the tires lull him into a dull sleep. Nicole and Cynthia sit in silence, celebrating their victory silently. Isabela and Cindy, who are visible through a grate in the cab, are also strangely quiet, as though they have nothing to talk about. Fuck, don't tell me it's up to me to keep us from going crazy.

A) Cynthia has a morbid expression, maybe John should talk to her to see if she's okay and check her injuries
B) Chat with Nicole for a bit, she looks like she could use some cheering up
C) Ask Isabela how things are looking on the road, John is a bit curious about the state of the city
D) Cindy hasn't lifted her head once since they got in the truck, John thinks she'd be a little happier considered she didn't DIE. Maybe he should talk to her.
E) Take a small nap, John can check on everyone later.
Be careful with this one.....
(Yes, I know this is a lackluster update. I'm tired and uninspired so don't hate.)
