Oh hell, I just can't catch a break. "That's a story for another time, but we really need to get out of here. I'm sorry I lured them all here, I really am. But it's only a matter of time before they break through that door." Rachel has no idea how the duo will react to her outburst, but it's too late to change anything. "I don't know who you think you are, coming into my house and telling me what to-" The more sparsely dressed of the two women begins to launch into a tirade, but Isabela raises a hand to interrupt her. "I know how much this upsets you, Cynthia, but she's correct. We need to go unless you have a death wish." Her interjection is calm and concise, serving to silence her frustrated cousin. "Ugh, you're right as always. Fine, what should we do before I leave behind everything I own?" Cynthia dons a dejected expression as the thought of leaving her life behind, but she knows she doesn't really have a choice. "We can take the fire escape to the roof. The adjoining buildings are close enough that we can travel along them for a ways. We're going to need weapons though." Isabela's eyes fall to the combat knife Rachel has strapped to her shoulder, who takes the hint and offers the weapon as a sign of trust. "Good, this will work. Is that the only gun you have?" She asks of Rachel. "Unfortunately, I....sorry, this gash is really starting to get to me." The agent stumbles slightly as a wave of pain radiates from her wound, nearly causing her to loose her footing. She shakes off the pain for the time being, unsure of when the next wave will strike. "Anyway, this is all I have on me. I didn't exactly prepare for a zombie outbreak." Rachel offers them a half truth, she was only as prepared as Phenotrans had made her. "I'll assume you know how to use it then. Cynthia, get the taser you keep in your nightstand and a cleaver from the kitchen. It's the best we can do on such short notice." Isabela instructs her cousin on what weapons to grab, who promptly obeys. A few moments later, Cynthia returns to her side with the two new armaments. "Just in time, I don't think the door will hold much longer. Time to go." Isabela opens the window to the fire escape and exits the apartment first, pausing for a moment as she ensures the way is clear. "It's clear, come on." She motions for the others to follow, Rachel exiting next. Cynthia remains behind for a moment to reflect sadly on what she is leaving, amazed by how her life has begun to crumble in a matter of hours. "Cynthia, what are you waiting for?! Let's go!" Isabela calls into the apartment just as the door to the apartment begins to splinter, the undead moans growing louder by the second. Cynthia silently obeys her cousin, climbing out of the window in a huff. I never really thought of all the lives Phenotrans destroys when they launch an operation like this... Rachel allows the two Latina women to proceed first, truly pondering, for the very first time, the ramifications of Phenotrans' actions. The rusty fire escape clangs with every step they take, furthering the distance from their undead pursuers. Rachel manages to keep pace with her two uninjured cohorts to the roof, clearing the length of the last floor in a matter of moments. They step onto the rooftop and behold the complete carnage of the city for the first time. Pillars of smoke dot the landscape as the ambient noise of the dying city echoes throughout the air. They neglect to observe the streets below, it would only serve to distract and demoralize the trio. "Oh my god...The city." Cynthia takes the carnage in all at once, standing aghast amid everything unfolding around them. Sirens wail in the distance as, presumably, law enforcement and EMTs respond to disaster after disaster. She tries not to imagine the countless lives that have already been lost. "Don't dwell on it, it will only make things harder. We're alive, that's all that matters." Isabela gives her a comforting hug as Rachel simply stands aside, mustering as much of a stoic expression as she can. To think I actually work for the bastards. Where did I go wrong with my life?"We're away from the zombies for now, but we need to do something about your head. You can't keep on at this rate without treating the wound." Isabela turns her attention to Rachel next, suddenly acting as caretaker to everyone. "I hate to admit it, but you're right. I don't know how much longer I can keep this up." Rachel looks outward to the city, wondering where the closet place to find medical supplies would be. "I don't suppose either of you know where we can find a first aid kit?" She asks of the other two, possessing no knowledge of the city herself. "I didn't have one in my apartment, but I remember my neighbor Hector having one. I don't know if that's much of an option now." Cynthia offers one possible solution, however counter-intuitive it might be considering their retreat. "Any business should have a first aid kit, that's a given. But we'll need more than that to fully treat the wound. We need antiseptic, gauze, clean cloth pads, and a few antibiotics just in case infection starts to set in." Isabela quashes the option though, they're going to need a pharmacy or drugstore for those materials. Rachel Zane Current chance of survival: 80% (Roll will only be done if active choice is chosen. Aka: Seeking out a pharmacy instead of simply continuing along the rooftops) Health: 60%, Bleeding head wound will result in diminishing health and increasing fatigue every update until treated Fatigue: 45%, Rachel now moves at a slower rate than the others. Yeah, I don't know about that Veta. I'll give it some consideration and maybe have one of the characters possess knowledge of sign language. As Cynthia is about to offer another suggestion, a shrill scream from the street below garners their attention. Rachel rushes to the edge of the roof to investigate, Isabela and Cynthia immediately following. In the street below, a blonde haired woman dressed in a tight pink dress, a duffle bag bouncing at her side, is racing up the street toward the apartment, shadowed by a duo of zombies nearly broken out into a full sprint. "Since when can they run like that?!" Cynthia states her disbelief of the zombies' feat, it flies in the face of everything they'd been told by the media. "It's possible if they haven't decomposed enough yet, the only thing hindering their mobility is necrosis." Isabela offers her own hypothesis, though Rachel knows she is speaking from direct study of the undead. "We can't just let them kill her, there's only two of them. Can't we do something?" Cynthia is the first to mention saving the woman, Isabela glancing sideways at her cousin as a result. ".....I knew you would say that. Hey! Up here! Come around the side, there's a fire escape you can climb on!" Isabela concedes to her cousin's wish without a second though or bothering to consult Rachel. I'll have to be careful around these two, they might be trouble together. She waves her arms in back and forth in an exaggerated manner to attract the woman's attention. Hearing the shouts, the woman looks up and catches sight of Isabela's antics. She nods swiftly as one of the zombies clumsily trips over its own feet, taking its companion to the ground. This buys her enough time to make it around the corner to the base of the fire escape. Without telling the others, Cynthia had already made her to the base of the escape. A loud clatter emanates from the release as Cynthia lets the ladder down for the woman. "Come on!" She urges the survivor to hurry, extending her hand should she need assistance. Without stopping, the woman jumps onto the second rung of the ladder and begins climbing, the zombies flailing wildly into the alley soon afterwards. She scrambles up the ladder, taking Cynthia's hand once she reaches the top. The latina woman pulls her to safety just as a zombie slams into the ladder, bending the metal slightly with its momentum. The second of the pair unexpectedly leaps headfirst at ladder but lacks the coordination to grab it. Instead, its head becomes trapped between two of the rungs, its body flailing fruitlessly to escape. "Cynthia! What the hell were you thinking!" Isabela immediately reprimands her cousin for leaving her sight as she makes it down the escape, though Rachel can see the small shine of pride in her expression. The agent had followed her in case they would need her gun. "Someone needed to open the release on the ladder otherwise she wouldn't have made it." Cynthia defends her actions as she rises to her feet. She helps also the blonde woman up as well, who speaks for the first time. "For what it's worth, I'm grateful for what you both did. I would've run right past this place if you hadn't gotten my attention from the roof. And helping me up here, I can't even begin to thank you for saving my life." She beams at the three, even Rachel who played no part in her rescue. "What do you say we continue this conversation on the roof? I could do without the noise." Rachel motions to the zombie trapped in the ladder below, its moans and growls still disturbingly audible from where they stand. The four of them make their way back up to the roof, leaving behind the woman's pursuers. "Ah.." Rachel moans softly as another pang of pain rings throughout her head. "Are you alright?" Isabela asks of Rachel as she dabs the wound once more, dried blood flaking her finger. Before Rachel can reply, the new addition to the group opens her duffle bag and offers Isabela a roll of gauze. "Here, use this to cover that up. I have medical supplies in here. I got this from a pharmacy with my group, but I was the only one to make it..." She displays the contents of the bag to Isabela, who confirms that it has everything they need to treat Rachel. "This is the least I could do for you saving my life. Let me know if you need anything else." She zips up the bag once Isabela has everything she'll need to work. "In all the haste, we haven't even completed any introductions." Isabela notes they don't even know one another's name before working on Rachel's wound. She introduces herself and Cynthia as cousins first, Isabela noting her training as a medical technician. Rachel reveals her name next with a small smile, falsely calling herself a trained diver to explain her odd outfit. The woman introduces herself as Shannon Honey, a stripper at a local club who was on the job when the outbreak began. With the introductions out of the way, Isabela begins patching up Rachel's head wound with the newly acquired medical supplies. Cynthia chats with Shannon in the meantime, the women's occasional laughter serves to lighten the mood considerably, making the procedure go by in almost a blur. "Alright, we're done. Just take care not to disturb the bandages and you should make a full recovery." Isabela tosses aside the used supplies as Rachel runs her hand over the bandages. The constant burning sensation has dissipated as well as the throbbing. Whoa, she really knows what she's doing. "Great, now we can get out of here." Rachel climbs to her feet as they begin discussing where to go next. "Do you think we should head to Fortune City? The nearest shelter is in there if I can remember correctly." Cynthia mentions the fallout shelter she'd seen in Fortune City before, the nickname of the stretch of casinos the citizens of the town had given the area. "That sounds like the best plan. We're on our own otherwise." Isabela agrees this would be the best plan, Rachel elects to remain quiet as she ponders the mention of Fortune City in her briefing. They said Agent S' top priority was Fortune City, I'll have to be careful if we go there."Wait! Before we go, do you think we might be able to go back to Wisper's? It's the cabaret I work at, some of my friends are still there waiting on me to come back. I don't know if I can make it back there alone." Shannon pleas with them to make the detour, she'll separate from the group otherwise. Rachel Zane Health: 70% Fatigue: 35% Entourage: Isabela Keyes: 100%, Combat knife Cynthia Velasquez: 100%, Taser (100%), Butcher knife Shannon Honey: 100%, Duffle bag of medical supplies Inventory: 9mm Handgun (11/39), flashlight (100%), Mission datapad A) Oblige Shannon and accompany her to the strip club, it'd be suicidal to let her go alone and she has the medical supplies in case anyone becomes injured again. Plus there would plenty of zombait.... B) Tell the stripper she'll have to go alone, they can't afford any detours with the situation in the city becoming more and more unstable as the hours roll by C) Try to convince her to forget about her friends, it's difficult, but they could be dead for Shannon knows. A, let's bring on the bait, shall we? As for the stripper possibly joining the group, I'll hold off on that. Interesting that you'd kill your second protagonist off though. For Lilly's group, I'd like to see the twins take the fall, attractive as they are, there are far too many people that make for easy targets.

Am I seriously considering this? "I think we might be able to manage it. It wouldn't be right to leave innocent people stranded." Rachel surprises herself when she speaks up for the stripper. "You're serious right now?" Isabela shoots Rachel a questioning expression, but that seems to be all she can muster. "Surprisingly, I am." She straightens her back and stands firm by her decision. Isabela sighs as she turns to her cousin. "What do you think, Cynthia? Does this really sound like the best plan?" She asks her without giving Shannon a second glance. "I know you don't like it, but she's right. Are we any better than those husks if we leave people to die?" She counters Isabela with a moral argument just as Rachel did, leaving the agent somewhat surprised. ".......Fine. We'll escort you to the club and see what the situation is there. But you might be on your own in actually getting to Fortune City. I'm not putting us at risk anymore than we need to." Isabela's decision seems to be final though Rachel can't say if she completely speaks for herself. It's a plan at least."Oh my god, thank you so much! I honestly thought you weren't going to help for a moment." Shannon offers Isabela a hug of gratitude, who awkwardly taps the stripper on the back as they embrace. "Okay, that's enough. Let's get moving, the streets are empty enough for now that we can make good time." They dispatch the two zombies at the base of the ladder, careful not to expend any ammunition on the pair. "Before we go, Cynthia, let Shannon have your knife. I don't want her walking around without a weapon, we don't need anyone hindering us." Isabela instructs her cousin to relinquish a weapon to the stripper, who gingerly takes the knife in her hand. "Hopefully I won't have to use this..." She chuckles anxiously as they set out into the streets once more. Rachel tries to keep a finger on the trigger of her gun at all times, but after reacting to nearly every little sound, whether it merely be vermin or an object shifting, she elects to simply keep the firearm at the ready. Shit, this is nerve wrecking! Why am I more on edge now than when I was moving through the city solo? Rachel ponders on what could be called her sixth sense. Though it doesn't flare up often, she has had episodes of severe anxiety just before an incident since she was young. She keeps her thoughts to her self for the time being however, no need to alarm the group over what could be nothing. "It's only a few more blocks from here, we tried not to go too far for these." Shannon points to the west, she'll be taking them toward the low income area of the city. "Of course it is." Cynthia remarks under her breath after she realizes where they'll be going. Nobody seems to hear her though as the group marches onward, Shannon at the helm. She takes them onto the sidewalk in front of a hobby store, careful to avoid the expired corpse of an elderly man trapped under a car tire. "How could this have happened? Security at the arena was supposed to be top notch." Shannon observes aloud, stopping to contemplate the man's fate. "You mean you didn't see the news? It turns out CURE was nothing but a group of terrorists. Channel 6 showed one of them blowing open the pens at the stadium." Cynthia tells her the fabricated truth, eliciting something of a look of sympathy from Rachel. They really have no idea..."We can solve the mystery late, we need to keep moving." Isabela breaks up the conversation by pushing the two women forward, placing Shannon in the lead again. The blonde woman hurries forward without bothering to check her surroundings. As she passes by a darkened alley, a massive zombie bursts out of the shadows. Standing at a solid six and a half feet, its physique is nearly inhuman with a massive muscular build. Its plain black shirt and brown shorts are in tatters, torn by its bulging form no doubt. It bellows a quaking roar that causes everyone to cover their ears, leaving the stripper completely vulnerable. It charges Shannon at a sluggish pace, striking her in the chest with a powerful arm swipe while she is still recovering from the roar. The blow renders her unconscious almost instantly. She flies backward through the air, slamming into the closed passenger door of a car. The metal bends from the impact, leaving the woman slumped over in the new indention. Rachel is the first to recover from the bellow, her handgun still gripped tightly. Without thinking, she aims and unloads five shots at her hulkish target, striking it in the arm and torso. It seems to feel the shots as it directs its attention to the agent next, taking a languid step toward her. "Cynthia, move!" Isabela pulls her aside as the Brute takes a swing at the woman but strikes air instead. "It's strong but slow. I have an idea." Isabela pushes her cousin to safety after taking her taser, rushing to the side of creature in an attempt to get behind it. "Keep it distracted! I need to get behind it." She calls to Rachel, who fires three more shots in response. Two of them hit it in the neck while the third pierces its eye, securing her attention of the Brute. "Come on, you know you want me." Rachel taunts her foe for good measure, wishing for Isabela to hurry. The ghoul begins thrashing madly, driven berserk by the loss of its eye. Isabela manages to reach its spine just as it begins its assault. She cuts an incision with her knife before jamming the taser directly onto its spine, leaping back to avoid a shattering blow to her head. The taser lodged in its spine, the Brute's body begins to sizzle as smoke rises from its back. Its arms flail uncontrollably as its head spasms left and right. "Let's go now, I don't know if this is going to kill it. Help me with Shannon." Isabela motions for Cynthia to help her lift the woman from the car, her breathing shallow but steady. "Rachel, we'll need you to cover us if we're going to get her to safety. Cynthia, do you know the way from here?" She issues commands to the group, Cynthia well aware of the club Shannon spoke of now that she knows what part of town they are in. "We'll have to move quickly, those shots will bring every zombie in a three block radius." Isabela and Cynthia each put arm around the blonde's shoulders and waist, moving in unison to keep the pace steady. Rachel escorts the three of them unrestricted toward the cabaret, most of the zombies around having gone toward their last location. We're almost there, just a little further. "There it is!" Cynthia exclaims while pointing to a generic looking building surrounded by vegetation. They increase their pace to reach the front door of the club. The doors have been completely boarded up, forcing them to search the sides of the building. The club looks unremarkable save for the large letters above it. They spell out WISPERS in a vibrant purple color, acting as a beacon for anything in the streets. They seriously have those damn lights on?! They'll attract everything that walks by, be it human or undead. The letter H, however, is dark and hangs forward above the entrance perilously, held in place only by a thin looking wire. The outside of the building is painted a mixture of khaki and purple, no doubt the choice of a fan of '80s era culture. They find a lone door situated on the left side of the building near the front, seemingly unbarricaded. Rachel tries the bar for the door but is disappointed when it doesn't budge. "Hey! Let us in, we've got your friend Shannon with us, she's injured!" She pounds on the door while getting straight to the point, they've come too far now to observe tact. Sounds of rummaging and conversation emanate from behind the door until it opens moments later. Two men wearing business suits stand in the doorway, one clutching a baseball bat while the other wields a broken whiskey bottle. "Is she the only one with you?" The man with the gray suit and baseball bat asks. "Yes, she said she was the only one who made." Rachel replies. "Damn it, I told you we should've gone with them. Alright, come in." The other man, clad in black suit, ushers them into the main room of the club. The lights are dim and the shame shade of purple as the paint on the building. Various dancer poles dot the area though most of the tables and chairs have been cleared to use as materials for barricades. The two men guide them to a stage where they set Shannon down along with her medical supplies. "What the hell happened?!" A woman suddenly harps from behind Rachel, stepping forward to observe the wounded stripper. She has on a pink mesh shirt with a bright blue skirt, most likely one of Shannon's fellow strippers. "We found her being chased through the streets by a pair of zombies. We helped her and decided to come here, but we were ambushed by the biggest damn zombie you've ever seen on the way." Rachel paraphrases what had happened. "And you two just let them in without a second thought? They could be murderers for all we know." The woman speaks with a heavy middle Eastern accent, glaring directly at the trio with her arms crossed. "Andrea, relax. They brought Shannon here with the medicine. I don't think that's something a murderer would do." The men take the hot headed woman away before she creates any more tension, the last thing they need is for anyone to butt heads before they've even had a chance to sit down. "I'll look after Shannon to make sure she's stable. You two take a look around, get a feel for the people here. We need to know if anyone's going to be coming with us or not." Isabela begins tending to Shannon's wounds as Rachel and Cynthia separate to case the club. (Here I'll be posting a quick description of Andrea's profile: Andrea Romano is a hot headed woman used to having everything go her way in life. This has made her a difficult person to get along with and unpleasant in general. She hates it when others don't consult her on matters concerning herself. Though she is difficult to get to know, she's been known to have her moments of empathy. You can select up to 2 choices. And now I have a question about Shannon. Should she perish within the next few updates or simply be placed in peril?

Maybe it'd be better if I confronted this Andrea character before it gets any worse. She could jeopardize everything if no one gets her temper under control. Taking it upon herself to set the woman straight, Rachel seeks out the ill tempered stripper under the hazy lights of the club. A quick glance around the room reveals Andrea to be at the far end of the bar by her lonesome. Everyone else has the right idea to be avoiding her. She unfastens the clip on her holster for good measure should the confrontation get out of hand. She approaches from the opposite side of the bar, preferring to keep the obstacle between them for now. "Ahem." Rachel audibly clears her throat to get the stripper's attention, electing to remain standing. Andrea pivots on her heel, rolling her eyes with a loud sigh upon seeing Rachel. "What hell do you want?" She asks rather brashly. "I'm here to make sure we don't have a problem because you sure as hell made it seem like we do." Rachel sweeps a handful of hair back to stare the woman in the eye, mustering as fierce a glare as she can. "And what, pray tell, are you going to do about it if we do, Goldilocks? You look like you could work here with that outfit." She merely chuckles at Rachel's attempt at intimidation. "I think this answers that question." In a bold stroke that surprises even herself, Rachel draws her gun and places it on the bar counter, barrel facing Andrea. "Please, you don't have the stomach to use that thing on me." Still not impressed, she scoffs and waves away the blonde agent. This bitch is really beginning to get on my nerves. As Rachel begins to reply, a gruff shout from the direction of the stage draws her attention. One of the men from earlier stumbles from behind a curtain, his face drained of color. He runs and dives off of the stage in a fit of fright. "Something's back there! It latched onto Stephanie's face and started to..." He stammers but is unable to finish the sentence. Seconds later, a shrill wail emanates from behind the curtain. It begins to sway from below as an inhuman creature emerges. The creature's body is extremely thin and aerodynamic, only possessing a visible three limbs. Its mouth is small and circular, featuring no teeth. Its eyes are merely black slits with multiple lenses akin to those of a fly. It sports a long, thin, and segmented tail that has four small yet wicked barbs at the end of it.(Basically think an infector from Dead Space but with some small adjustments. Here's a picture for reference: images.wikia.com/deadspace/images/8/86/Infector-full-body.jpg ) It swiftly marches to the edge of the stage with an unnerving gait, its legs, if they could be called that, arcing high with each movement. It sweeps its eyes widely across the dim lobby, seemingly scanning for something. It brings its gaze directly to Andrea and lets out an otherworldly shriek. It then rears back and leaps into the air, spreading its appendages to gain air time. Realizing that it is heading straight for her, Rachel gasps as she dives headlong to the side, leaving her gun sitting on the counter. Andrea scream as the thing descends upon her, wrapping its wide wingspan around her torso. It rears its barbed tail back and impales it lightly into her breast bone, securing itself to its prey. Andrea thrashes about wildly as a grotesque tentacle begins to emerge from its mouth. Rachel watches in stunned silence before realizing that she might be able to help Andrea if she can get to her gun. But as her horrible fortune would have it, Isabella begins shouting for help in the opposite direction. She turns to see the Latina fending off another one of the creatures with her knife as it heads for the still unconscious Shannon, no doubt intent on making her its prey. Damn, this is one hell of a situation.Current chance of survival: 75% (Roll will only be done if percentage vote is chosen) Rachel Zane Health: 70% Fatigue: 42% Entourage: Isabela Keyes: 100%, Combat knife Cynthia Velasquez: Inventory: flashlight (100%), Mission datapad A) Lunge for her gun and fire at the creature holding Andrea, she may have been a bitch to them before but she doesn't deserve to die for it, does she? (69%) B) Toss something at the creature approaching Shannon, perhaps Rachel can distract it so Isabella is able to assault it from behind. (78%) C) Rachel can't see Cynthia anywhere, maybe she should search for her in the midst of all this chaos to ensure she is safe. (85% for a positive outcome, may or may not include a casualty for a negative outcome) D) Ride out the attack on the two women, Rachel won't needlessly risk her life for two complete strangers, one of whom is already openly hostile. Z) CYOA I know this update sucks, but that's what happens when I take an unforeseen two month break. EDIT: I've decided to be nice and allow you to vote for two options if you don't choose D. Order does matter as the first vote in the sequence will have the normal chance of success whereas the second will have a penalty of 15% to 20%, I'm not sure on the number yet.

The results for the rolls are in: Two of them were a success and one was a miss. I might have to start lowering the odds with all these successes...
Having made her decision, Rachel turns her back on Andrea to aid Isabela and Shannon. Andrea's screams soon fade, overtaken by the sound of the creature forcing its tentacle into her mouth. She searches for an object to toss at the creature as a distraction but is unable to find anything small enough on such short notice. Her hand falls to the flashlight on her belt though she is reluctant to throw away her only form of defense. But if I don't, Shannon is done for.
Rachel reluctantly raises the flashlight to eye level and takes aim, tossing it at the center mass of the creature. It twirls through the air and strikes the thing directly in its back, garnering Rachel its undivided attention. At that moment, she also hears a disturbing suction like sound from behind her...
The creature immediately spins toward Rachel, letting loose the same warning cry its companion had previously. "Any time now, Isabela!" Rachel calls as her fear begins to mount. Isabela acts swiftly by leaping at her target with the knife swinging. The creature's flesh is as thin as it appears, the blade slicing through its cadaver with ease.
The abomination flails its tail at the woman atop its back, missing with every swing save for a cut across her right cheek. Isabela ignores its thrashing until it succumbs to her assault, its wings torn to shreds by her barrage. "Cut it a little close, didn't you?" Rachel merely chuckles at the audacity of the situation while Isabela frantically scans the lobby. "Have you seen Cynthia? I lost track of her when that thing burst out of the vent above us. Cynthia!" Without skipping a beat Isabela begins searching for her cousin. Shit, she's right. I didn't see Cynthia anywhere.
While Isabela runs off to find her cousin, Rachel turns her attention back to Andrea and her assailant. It only took Isabela moments to cut down the creature, but that was all it took for its cohort to complete its agenda with Andrea. As swiftly as it had come, Rachel finds it has disappeared to leave the stripper lying in place, unconscious but breathing. She also appears unharmed save for the newly acquired wound on her chest. What did that thing even do to her?
Rachel holsters her firearm as well as her flashlight from across the room, preparing herself to aid in Isabela's search. She finds the lobby has become strangely devoid of life save for Isabela and herself. Everybody must've scattered during all the chaos, not that I blame them. But most of those women were unarmed and in shape to be fighting...
Rachel is unable to enjoy the calm for now as a single step brings misfortune. The vent above her lacks a cover, offering the creature that had assaulted Andrea the perfect opportunity to strike. It descends upon her, silent as a shadow in the night. It restrains her arms from behind with its wings with surprising strength; Rachel is barely able to move her arms as its grip tightens. She attempts to shout at Isabela for help, but the creature's vice grip drains her of breath. Oh fuck! What the hell is this thing going to do to me?!
Rachel Zane
Health: 65% Fatigue: 48%
Entourage: Nobody at the moment.
Inventory: 9mm Handgun (3/39), flashlight (100%), Mission datapad
A) Attempt to shout at Isabela again, Rachel might be able to inhale enough air to get her attention (60%, Isabela is all the way across the room at the moment though.)
B) Try to slam the creature into the ground to release its grip, Rachel doesn't have much heft but the force could be enough to stun it for the moment. (58%, Taking the creature to the ground could give it even more of an advantage however.)
C) Aim to get her tun and fire at the creature, hitting at this angle wouldn't be hard but actually getting the gun out of its holster might prove fifficult. (49%, Rachel is barely able to move her arms, the holster is also clasped which makes for the low success rate.)
D) Use her remaining breath to scream aloud, its sure to garner someone, or something's, attention. (75% for something to happen. Bit of a wild card choice.)
Z) CYOA
This is a bit of a bind Rachel is in. Choose carefully....
Obviously the roll that lost was the resulting search for Cynthia. Just a bit of foresight for everybody, consider that the thing holding Andrea had her cornered and had no other threats besides Rachel to worry about.
Isabela was armed with a knife and while she may not have been able to get to Shannon in time, she could have possibly killed the creature as it had its way with her. You must consider the consequences and outcomes of the choices if you want the characters to survive. I'll also give you a little hint. Always assume somebody has a vent over their head when indoors in my stories...

The roll hit a 76, failure by one measly point...
A desperate idea enters Rachel's mind as her breath is slowly drained from her. With everything to lose at this point, she opens her mouth and lets loose a terrified scream at the top of her lungs. The creature seems to be taken aback by her screaming briefly as its grip remains taught rather than tightening for a second.
Isabela responds to her despondent plea from across the room, charging to assist the agent before she is crushed. Rachel's scream soon dies out as her lungs are emptied of breath, the creature having resumed its death coil. Rachel nearly blacks out as the sounds of tearing flesh greet her ears.
"Rachel, get up. Rachel!" Isabela shakes the blond woman as her vision slowly returns to normal. Rachel coughs violently while rising to her feet, inhaling generous breaths while clutching her abdomen. Damn, that fucking thing nearly broke a few ribs. I've gotta be more careful.
"Are you alright?" Isabela asks once she is sure the second of the creatures is dead. "For now. I don't think it broke anything, but I've definitely got a bruised rib or two." Rachel takes a moment to sit down near Shannon, who is still unconscious but breathing steadily, peeking inside of her suit to assess the damage. Sure enough, a large bruise has formed along both of her hips. An aching along her back tells her it most likely runs the course of her body.
"I'll see about patching you up once we find Cynthia, we have to find her first." Isabela is adamant to continue her search, not that Rachel can blame her. She must really care about her cousin if she's this determined to find her. Fighting against the pain, Rachel climbs to her feet one again. "You won't be doing it alone. I'm coming too." Rachel pulls her handgun from its holster as she smiles at Isabela, who returns the gesture.
The consequences of Rachel's actions soon reveal themselves however. The boarded entrance doors begin to shake as the undead begin to pile up on the other side. "Shit, they must've heard me scream. We need to find Cynthia NOW." Rachel directs Isabela to lead them in the search. "She may have gone in the direction of the kitchen, she was standing by the entrance last time I saw her." Isabela suggests where to begin their search.
A scream originating from the rear of the club stops them though. "That must've come from the dressing rooms in the back. Do you think she could've gone that way?" Rachel asks of Isabela. "I don't know, I couldn't tell if it was her or not." Isablea is slowly becoming visibly frustrated with their streak of misfortune. At that moment, Andrea begins moaning from behind the bar as well, having regained consciousness.
"She's still alive?" Isabela is surprised at this turn of events, she had pegged Andrea as another casualty. "Think we should check on her?" Rachel leaves the final decision up to Isabela, they don't have enough time to debate what to do.
Current time: 7:56 p.m.
Rachel Zane
Health: 59%, Multiple bruised ribs as well as a body spanning bruise along her midsection (All characters will begin moving at a slower pace if their health ever falls below 50%)
Fatigue: 56%, (Rachel will soon become sluggish as her fatigue builds. Her movement will be hindered if it rises above 70% and will pass out from exhaustion if it ever pass 90%.)
Entourage: Isabela Keyes: 90%, Combat knife
Inventory: 9mm Handgun (3/39), flashlight (100%), Mission datapad
A) The both of them will search the kitchen for Cynthia, it is the closest place she would have fled to.
B) Both of them will go investigate the scream coming from the dressing rooms, it might be Cynthia or any of the other women of the club in danger.
C) They should check on Andrea to see if she's alright, the stripper might need medical attention.
E) One of them will see to the dressing room while the other searches the kitchen, splitting up will allow them to cover more ground but there's no telling how many more of the creatures are still wandering the club.
F) One will check on Andrea while the other investigates the dressing room or kitchen, one can tend to the stripper while the other tries to make up for lost time.
Now an optional choice: If they leave the lobby, should they take Shannon along? The stripper is completely defenseless as she recovers from her wounds. She is stable enough to move, but it will slow them down as they search.
If you vote for E, who will check the kitchen and who will check the dressing room? Mention it in your vote. Same for F, who will check on Andrea and who will investigate what area?
Also, if they split up but take Shannon along, who will escort her? Rachel or Isabela?
Finally, should Rachel take this opportunity to reload her pistol? Ammo will be handled realistically in this in that if she reloads. she loses any remaining bullets in the magazine.
