So here's a new cyoa for the hell of it: "Liliana Esperanza reporting in. We've received breaking news from our field reporter Rebecca Chang, who is inside Fortune City." Liliana remarks grimly to her viewers, already aware of the disturbing news about to be revealed. "It is clear that the outbreak started in the Fortune City area, during last night's "Terror is Reality" show. Information received from a behind the scenes source reveals that this outbreak was not an accident, but rather an act of terrorism." Liliana adjusts her seat to afford herself a more comfortable position as Rebecca continues. "This shocking footage was obtained from a source inside the Fortune City arena, the site of the Terror is Reality game show. It may be upsetting to some viewers." Liliana watches in horror as a man in a tattered green shirt, his hair a greasy mess of dreads, plants a small explosive on the holding pens of the Fortune Area, freeing the droves of zombies that had been kept contained. He flees the scene as swiftly as he had "Initial reports suggest that the man in the video is a member of the protest group CURE. Authorities speculate that CURE was attempting to discredit Terror is Reality or to shock Americans out of what CURE sees as their complacency. No statment of responsibility has yet been received. This horrible act of terror appears to be an escalation of violence for the protest group. This is Rebecca Chang, reporting live from the Fortune City Hotel, in the heart of Fortune City. " Rebecca concludes her piece, leaving Liliana as shocked as the viewers at home must be. "Thank you for that Rebecca, our hearts go out to those caught up in the unfortunate incident. Looks like it's time for sports, take it away, Scott." Liliana directs the morning news over to her colleague, maintaining her countenance for her remaining time on camera. "Aaaaaaaannnnd we're clear." The cameraman cues her off, prompting Lily to nearly leap out of her seat and ask, "What the hell?! There's an outbreak happening at the Arena and we're just sitting here like nothing happened? Shouldn't we be evacuating?" Nobody in the room seems to be able to speak up and answer her, save for her assistant Tracy Soys. "Lily, what do you expect them to do? We've been assured that everything is under control at the Strip, and that the zombies can't make it out into the City." The red haired woman smiles innocently at the anchorwoman, her expression reeking of conceit. I don't know why I keep her around, I can hardly stand it when she does this."Oh, I'm sure they've got it all under control. Next you're going to tell me they're not even going to issue an evacuation." She retorts as she rises out of her chair and heads toward the snack table, leaving the stresses of the camera behind for a short while at least. "Then I won't tell you an evacuation hasn't been issued. I don't know why you're getting so upset, you act like you've never seen a zombie before." Tracy huffs and leaves Lily to respond to a technical issue with a camera, Tracy also double as somewhat of a tech expert due to her studies in college. "She is so lucky Pamela said I can't fire her or else I'd boot her ass out to the street." Lily begins berating the haughty assistant under her breath while sipping a bottle of water, unaware of the two people approaching her from behind. "Excuse us, Miss?" One of them asks, nearly causing her to spit out a portion of her water. She wrestles a short bout of coughing before replying, "Oh my god, I'm sorry. I didn't even hear you coming." She regains her composure in short order, placing the water aside. One of them is a blonde woman about Lily's height clad in a gray skirted power suit, her hair handing just below her ears in a bob cut. "My name is Jessica McCarney and this is my partner, Brad Garrison. We have a few questions for you concerning your co-worker, Rebecca Chang. We understand that you were one of the last people to speak with her before she reported to the Fortune City Arena earlier this morning, correct?" The woman conducts the questioning in a very matter of fact manner, maintaining a stoic expression while her partner actually shows emotion. "Yes, I told her good luck with her assignment, but I didn't envy her. I think Terror is Reality is barbaric." Lily offers a genuine response, wondering what these two out of place characters are doing at the Channel 6 Action News Station. "Did she happen to tell you anything related to the assignment? Such as where she'd be conducting most of her camera time?" Brad, the handsome partner Lily notes, asks in a much more friendly tone. His black suit compliments his professionalism, Lily finds him much easier to talk to than Jessica. "No, Rebecca's always secretive about her stories, she doesn't like other people to pry when she's on an assignment." They ask her a few more questions pertaining to Rebecca, but the questioning is cut short by the squealing of the overhead system. "All occupants of Channel 6 News, please evacuate immediately. This is not a drill, please evacuate immediately. There are zombies in the building." Liliana does a double take as the entire room falls silent, not a single person sure of how to react to the news. The tension in the room as people begin heading toward the door is palpable, but amazingly not a single person panics. "Lily, wait! They're telling me they need you back in front of the camera to tell the viewers what's happening." Somehow, even amidst everyone crowding to leave the area, Tracy manages to find Lily and attempt to drag her back to her desk. "Are they insane? There are zombies in the building! We've got to go." Lily reacts as calmly as she can, she must remain level-headed so as not to upset her assistant. Those goddamn producers are going to get us killed, the poor girl doesn't even know what to do. Liliana Esperanza Health: 100% Fatigue: 0% Entourage: Tracy Soys Inventory: Nothing, currently A) Tell Tracy they need to evacuate, the young assistant is just trying to impress everyone and besides, the action reporting is Rebecca's department B) Do as the producers ask, Lily might be frightened but the viewers at home deserve to know what is happening C) Leave her assistant and attempt to evacuate, Tracy can hopefully fend for herself After the first choice, what should Lily do next: D) Follow the two people who questioned her before, they didn't appear to be panicked when the announcement was made, maybe they know more about what's going on E) Head for Lily's office and gather her personal effects, she needs her car keys if she's going to make it anywhere F) Follow the crowd, Lily might be safer with strength in numbers And here's a picture of our current protagonist: www.locksleynet.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/kim-kardashian.gif

With her conscience getting the better of her, Lily attempts to convince Tracy to evacuate with her. "Tracy, let's go. I know how much this job means to you, but it's too late to do anything else. Come with me before you get yourself killed over nothing but a job." Lily pleads with her assistant to listen, she couldn't stand have the death of one so young on her conscience. Tracy seems hesitant to comply, but she finally realizes how dangerous it would be to remain behind for such a trivial request. "You're right, I don't know what I was thinking. This place isn't worth dying for." Tracy smiles gratefully as she discards her headset and clipboard, prepared to leave behind the seemingly most important aspect of her life. Maybe I had Tracy pegged the wrong way, she actually can listen."Let's go then, I need to get my car keys from my office first though. We need a vehicle." Lily directs Tracy out of the news room along with the crowd, careful to not let the two of them become separated. They diverge from said crowd by following the western hallway, away from the mob of people. A few others decide to take this route as well, but they seem to be intent on going it alone. Lily recognizes a few of the people as colleagues. None of them pay her or her assistant any mind as they flee for their lives, probably unaware that they even passed their associates. "How do you think this happened? I thought all the zombies in the city were being kept at the Arena?" Tracy asks as they proceed as quickly as they can toward Lily's office. "I honestly don't know, I thought the same thing. Maybe a few of them got loose before the CURE terrorist even struck? I've heard that security at Terror is Reality shows is abysmal." Lily responds with her opinion, but the fact that the undead are striking the station immediately after Rebecca's broadcast seems too obvious to be a coincidence.... Maybe there's more to this story than we know. Rebecca is in on ground zero, she might need some help.Lily keeps her suspicions to herself for the time being, no need to upset Tracy. "We're almost-Aaah!" Lily is taken by surprise as a zombie blindsides her, emerging from a darkened office as though it were lying in wait. Tracy staggers back while the zombie takes her supervisor to the ground, gnawing mindlessly at the air while attempting to sink its teeth into her flesh. "Ugh, Tracy do something!" Liliana struggles to keep the zombie at bay, but its larger frame prevents her doing much more than shielding herself with her arms. "Uhhh.." Tracy looks around nervously before reaching behind her back, raising her shirt a bit to grab something tucked into her jeans. "Cover your face." She advises after revealing a handgun. She kicks the zombie in the face to offer herself a better shot, the undead fellow reels from the blow by tossing its head aside. Tracy takes a step forward and places the gun directly to its temple before firing, ridding the world of yet another undead pest. Tracy helps Lily to her feet, but it's her boss's turn to be hesitant. "What are you doing with that? How long have you had it?" She questions while wiping away some of the blood from her silver dress. "I'm a young white female who lives in Fortune City. Do you really think I don't carry around some form of protection. Here, I'm legally authorized to carry it, see?" Tracy shows Lily her handgun license in her wallet, alleviating pretty much any worry that she had at the moment. That's good enough for me, I won't argue with the person that just saved my life. After clearing any doubts either may have had, they resume the trek Lily's office. The remaining hallway stands clear as they enter the office, Lily taking a moment to reflect on her time at the station. Her tenure with Channel 6 has been unspectacular at best, the difficult station manager the result of most of her complaints. Can't say that I'll miss the place. More than happy to be rid of the place, she retrieves her purse, her car keys among its contents. "Okay, I've got them. We can go now." Lily bids her office farewell for the final time as they prepare to evacuate the building. "Wait, do you hear that?" Lily stops for a moment, hearing what sounds to be a faint cry for help. "This way!" She pulls Tracy without her consent in the direction of the shouting. Trapped in a western hallway by a zombie is one of Lily's colleagues. Another reporter by the name of Kimberly Wiese if she recalls correctly. The other reporter struggles against a wall with a zombie clad in a janitorial outfit, he must have been cleaning the vicinity when bitten. "We have to help her. Use your gun!" Lily motions for Tracy to eliminate the zombie, but she appears averse to burden themselves with another body. "Oh for god's sake, give it to me. I'll do it myself." Lily snatches the gun from her unsuspecting assistant, she hadn't been prepared for her to simply tear it from her hands. She rushes to the woman's aid with firearm in hand, placing it to the zombie's temple in the same fashion Tracy had previously. "Cover your face." Lily utters the same words as she pulls the trigger, painting the walls a dark shade of crimson. The zombie crumples to the ground, releasing the other reporter from its ghastly grip. "Holy shit, thanks Lily! That was close." Kimberly sighs a heavy breath of relief while wiping her brow, taking note of a large ring of keys on the zombie's belt. "Hey, we can use these to find the others!" Kimberly immediately unclips the ring from its belt without even consulting Lily or Tracy. "Lily, what the hell was that? Don't ever do that again. You might end up hurting yourself or somebody else." Tracy approaches the two of them in a huff, ripping her gun from Lily's own hands. "You were just standing there like a statue, somebody had to do something." She sees no need offer further explanation, what's done is done. Tracy mutters what Lily swears to be an obscenity under her breath. That seems more like the Tracy I've come to know."Wait, what do you mean others?" Lily turns her attention to Kimberly now, who is eager to be off. "I got separated from them when we ran into a few of the zombies. I didn't see where they went, but they should still be on this floor. We have to make sure they're alright." Kimberly looks to both Lily and Tracy, expectant of their assistance. "How many of you were there exactly?" Tracy speaks up first. "Four of us, but there could be more trapped. We can use the keys to get through any doors that might've been locked down." Kimberly jangles the keys in the air as if the answer were right in front of them. She's right, they might need help, but we've already lost a lot of time as it is. There might be more zombies in the station than there were before.Liliana Esperanza Health: 100% Fatigue: 5% Entourage: Tracy Soys 100%: Handgun (7/18) Kimberly Wiese: Janitor's keys, Inventory: Purse (car keys, smart phone, watch, various make up, wallet with cash) A) Help Kimberly search the floor for survivors, if there is anyone left alive they need help and Lily won't leave them behind. B) Convince Kimberly to evacuate with them, she's going to get herself killed if she tries to search the floor by herself without protection C) Ask Kimberly if she'll evacuate, Lily doesn't want to leave her behind, but she seems dead set on search for any other survivors. D) Evacuate without bothering to speak with Kimberly anymore, they're running out of time as it is. Should you go with A, where should they begin the search: 1) The nearby offices, maybe somebody followed Kimberly without her realizing it. 2) Further along the western hallway Kimberly came from, there's bound to be a person or two that didn't manage to make it very far from the mob. 3) Try going around a different hallway, if there is still anyone else on the floor they might run into them. If you choose A, should Lily search the premises for a weapon? Pic of Kimberly: 1.bp.blogspot.com/-EUmOEABxElI/TkI_RgEWXCI/AAAAAAAACTs/dRhEibSWP14/s1600/celebrity-natalie-hot-picture.jpg

As much as she'd like to evacuate and leave certain death behind, Lily allows her conscience to get the better of her at Kimberly's behest. "Damn it Kimberly, which way did you come from?" Lily asks without deferring to Tracy, still acting as her supervisor. "Whoa, we're going to stay here even longer? What happened to we need to evacuate?" Tracy objects as she'd expected, but there is more at stake than her assistant's feelings. "These are our co-workers Tracy, we can't just leave them to die, Tracy. Now where was the last time you saw them, Kimberly?" Lily turns her back to Tracy, leaving the read headed woman to fume. "We came from the conference hall, but I think a few of the others may have followed me. The last person I saw was Jessica, but we got separated when that zombie attacked me. I think she might've hid in one of the offices. Good thing we have these." Kimberly jangles the set of keys one more time before beginning the search. "Wait, if we're going to stay here any longer, the two of you need something to defend yourselves. I don't have enough ammo to kill every zombie we come across." Tracy notifies the two reporters of their defenselessness, Lily hadn't even considered this. She's right, but what could we possibly find here in the station to use as a weapon?"Well, I have some pepper spray." Kimberly retrieves a can of mace from her back pocket, but it isn't much use against the undead. "Lot of good that did you against this guy. Maybe he's got something else on him." Tracy taps the dead janitor with her foot before patting him down, Kimberly hadn't taken the time to properly search him for anything useful. "Here we go, it didn't do him much good, but it's definitely going to serve us." Tracy comments on the presence of a switchblade knife in his pocket, extending the blade to admire its craftsmanship. The janitor had a knife like that?! Am I the only one who doesn't carry around a weapon? Kimberly even has a can of mace. Lily finds herself surprised when Tracy offers the blade to her. "Here Lily, you should take this. You're the only one who doesn't have a single weapon." She closes the blade and extends the handle toward the reporter, who hesitantly takes the weapon out of sheer necessity. "Keep that out in case we run into anything. Alright Kimberly, lead the way." Tracy lets out a defeated sigh before conceding to the the two other women, she'd rather risk this floor with them than the station by herself. Kimberly nods and tries the nearest door, finding it locked just as she'd believed. "Okay, let's try this key." She chooses a smaller silver key from the ring, scoffing when it is unable to fit into the lock. It takes several more tries, but she is eventually able to find a larger, gold colored key that fits the lock perfectly. The door swings open to reveal a deserted supply room filled with nothing but files. "Damn, let's try the next one." Lily points to a lone office at the corner of the hall, it is the first place she would have fled to if a zombie had attacked. "Here goes." Kimberly attempts the same key as before once they reach the door, Tracy with her gun at the ready behind should they find an unpleasant surprise. The key clicks in the lock as she pushes the door open and takes a step back. A yelp signifies they've found their quarry followed by a loud crack on the wall beside the door. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" Jessica quickly apologizes about the misthrown lamp, its broken pieces now lying in a heap on the ground. "Thank god you're alright Jess!" Kimberly rushes to hug her friend, who was fortunately enough to remain unscathed. "You recognize Lily and Tracy, right? They saved me out in the hall, I'd be a goner if not for them." She makes a quick introduction to her friend, an employee of the station Lily is unfamiliar with. "I'm so sorry I left you like that, I just panicked when that zombie appeared." Jessica apologize profusely for leaving her friend behind. Kimberly waves it off as they have more pressing matters to attend to. Several screams and shouts from both the Northern and Western hallway attract everyone's attention. "That sounded like Nicole and Trish." Jessica points in the direction of the Northern hall. "Mike must be this way then." Kimberly gestures to the Western hall in the direction that Tracy and Lily had come from previously. "Do we all go together or should we split up?" Tracy is the first to suggest a plan of action. B) Remain together, they'll at least have strength in numbers and have a greater chance of helping whoever they head toward. Should you choose A, who's coming with Lily: 1) Tracy, she has the only firearm and seems to be the most competent of the group. 2) Kimberly, she at least has a can of mace to use and knows the layout of the floor well enough, but she may need assistance if they get into trouble with no real weapon. 3) Jessica, she is the only one without a weapon and might need to be watched most closely to ensure her safety. After choosing A and who will go with Lily, which way will they go? 4) To assist Nicole and Trish, the twins of Channel 6 might be in a lot of trouble down the Northern hall. 5) To see to Mike, the sportscaster of the station is in the direction of the elevator and might need help. If you vote B, which way will the group head? C) To the Northern hall, Nicole and Trish sounded as if they are in danger. D) To the Western hall, Mike is by himself and might be be in trouble. "Uh...Tracy, take Jessica and go help Nicole and Trish. Kim and I will see to Mike." Lily instructs the group after nobody else bothers to speak up. "All right, if you say so." Tracy doesn't even bother to object, much to Lily's surprise. "Are you sure about this?" Jessica on the other hand hesitant, though for good reason. "Don't worry, stay close to Tracy, she knows what she's doing." Lily nods to her assistant before setting off as they have no time to waste. I hope we're not too late.
Kimberly follows closely behind, oddly silent for the time being. Lily doesn't blame her for being apprehensive, quite the opposite in fact. She's right to be worried, I don't even know if we'll be able to do anything for Mark....
The first obstacle in their way is a lone zombie that has wandered into the hall though it doesn't seem to have noticed them. Lily glances down at her weapon, the blade still hidden within. She flicks the release on the knife, brandishing the polished blade. "Here goes." She whispers under her breath while motioning for Kimberly to remain behind. "Okay." She mutters in reply, watching wide eyed as the reporter approaches the zombie from behind.
Uncertain as she creeps up on her foe, Lily is forced to strike as the zombie begins to turn around. She holds her breath as she drives the blade into its deteriorating skull, holding it steady for the second the zombie struggles. The blow was clean though, the zombie slumping to the ground dead for a final time. "I did it!" Lily pumps her fist in a celebratory manner, proud of her accomplishment. "Good job! We should keep going though." Kimberly congratulates her, but the moment is short lived as a sudden crash and Mark's shouts fill the air.
"What was that?" Lily remarks as they dash down the hall toward the elevator. "I have no idea, it couldn't have been done by a zombie." Kimberly responds before they arrive to witness the source of the disturbance. Pinned against the elevator doors, Mark backs away as a fleshy pod blocking the hallway begins to split. "What in the hell?!" Kim cups her hands over her mouth as massive appendages begin emerging from the pod.
Two forelegs, their lower halves thick and muscular, pull the creature out of the pod, its massive head one solid lining of exoskeleton. A thick, pulsating abdomen emerges next, followed by two rear legs with differing proportions as well. (Basically think a spiderant from Borderlands, I'm horrible with descriptions right now.)
The creature immediately lets loose an ear piercing shriek, causing Mark to stumble to one knee as he shields his ears. Lily and Kim shield their ears as well, failing to notice the two other zombies that are in the vicinity. "No!" Unfortunately, the zombies are fully aware of their presence as one of them grapples Kimberly and shoves her into the wall. Lily attempts to assist her, but she must contend with the remaining zombie, or so it seems. As she prepares to assault it, the creature suddenly rears around and slams its right foreleg into the zombie's back, pounding it into the ground multiple times until there is nothing left but a bloody pulp. Holy shit...
Lily remains quiet as the creature seemingly ignores her, responding instead to Kimberly's struggle. It doesn't have any eyes, does it only react to sound? The creature turns in the narrow hallway to face Kim now, a low thrumming growl emanating from its throat or similar structure. It grunts once before batting the zombie aside, somehow leaving the other reporter untouched. The zombie slams into the wall with a sickening thud, its brain splattered against the wall.
"Unnnhh..." Kimberly whimpers as the creature approaches her, its intentions unclear. Lily merely watches for the time being, no match for the creature by herself. It raises its forelegs above Kim's head, planting them into the wall to hold its substantial form over the woman. It then positions its thorax in front of Kim and begins spraying her with a web like substance, trapping her arms and torso first before pinning her legs and feet to the ground. It soon covers her face completely, leaving her body encased in a silk cocoon in a matter of seconds. What in the fuck?!
Mark finally recovers from the shriek only to witness the now encased Kimberly and stunned Lily. "What the hell?" He says aloud, causing the creature to turn its attention to him. "Wha-" It dashes across the hall to interrupt Mark, slamming him into the elevator doors with its powerful head. He grunts and clutches his ribs in pain as the creature presses ever harder, its intentions slowly becoming clear as Mark finds it difficult to breathe. "Lily...Help!" He coughs up blood as he pleads, the steel doors behind him slowly giving way to the monster's strength.
What do I do?! I could try to distract the thing by making noise, but what the hell would I do then? Mark is dead if I don't do anything though...Not to mention Kimberly here. She's struggling to escape that cocoon. I could free her while its distracted by Mark, but then.... Lily faces a difficult choice with only seconds to spare.

B) Look for something to distract the creature with, Lily can toss something further down the hall and hope the creature will react to it.
C) Shout out to the beast, perhaps Lily can distract it herself and lure it away from Mark and Kim.
D) Abandon the two of them, it's clear there's nothing Lily can do without putting herself in danger.

Come on, there's got to be something I can use to distract it! Lily searches desperately for a breakable object or something large enough to generate a fair amount of noise. Acting quickly, she pats down the zombie that was crushed before her. She curses silently as the search proves futile. As she rises to her feet, she spies her cell phone in her purse, a plan immediately coming to mind. I can turn on a ringtone and toss it down the hall!Selecting the loudest and most obnoxious tone available, she plays it and promptly tosses the phone down the hall. Its loud beeping echoes as though it were right next to her, filling her with confidence that her plan just might work. The creature drops Mark to the ground upon hearing the tone, shifting to face the new disturbance. Rather than charging after it however, the beast begins to sniff the air. What're you doing?! Chase after the phone you bastard...It inhales two large breaths through nostrils hidden beneath its large cranium, slowly taking in the environment almost contemplatively. One last sniff turns its attention directly to Lily, who has been careful not to make a sound thus far. The sight of the creature staring, if it could be called that, her down is more than she can bare though, a small whimper escaping her pursed lips. It emits a low, nearly quiet thrum as it approaches the reporter. "Please no.." She mutters aloud, there no longer being a point in remaining quiet. She takes a step back and nearly screams as her back bumps into the wall. With nowhere to go, she merely watches in horror as the beast assumes the same position it did over Kimberly. With nothing left to lose, Lily takes in a deep breath and screams at the top of her lungs. "Please, somebody help me! Tracy, Jessica, Mark, anybody!" She pleads with the empty air as a silken prison is weaved around her body. Almost ready to admit defeat, Lily still realizes that she has the switchblade. I'm not going down without a fight! Her waist and calves now trapped against the wall, she takes the blade in a free hand and shoves it into the thorax of the creature. It wails out in pain but doesn't yield in its entrapment of the woman. She stabs yet again, this time drawing a viscous, green fluid that must be its blood. The pain from the second wound is too great for it to ignore as it drops to the ground and roars in Lily's face, causing her to drop her only hope of defense and escape. "No!" She reaches for the knife in an attempt to catch it before it hits the ground, but her impaired movement prevents her from catching it. Once more, the creature resumes its cocooning of Lily, who struggles in vain to escape her capture. She begins to hyperventilate as the silk pins her hands down at her sides, only her upper torso and head remaining free. She notices the beast carries a slightly leathery scent about it, likely the last scent she will be smelling for a while. "Heeeeeelp!" She screams one more time before a white shroud overcomes her vision, the pale, fluorescent light of the hall obscured behind it. Nothing but muffled cries escape the webbing as the creature touches the floor again, purring softly as if in delight of its catch. Mark resigns himself to his fate as its attention turns to him one last time, an encroaching blue mass the final sight he takes in..... _______ "Jessica, look out!" Jessica looks behind her as Tracy warns of an approaching zombie, ducking to allow the red-headed assistant a clear shot. Tracy fires a shot cleanly into its forehead before firing at a zombie immediately to her left, cursing under her breath at having to fire the last round in the gun's chamber. Jessica backs away with her ax in hand, they'd liberated it from its case on the way to assist the twins. "Somebody help Trish!" Nicole, the more outspoken of the two, shouts as a zombie takes her sister to the floor. With Tracy still occupied by a pair of zombies, it falls on Jessica to come to the rescue. Though she'd taken up the ax, she still hadn't had a chance to use it yet. Guess it's not or never...Putting aside her inhibitions, she swings the heft of the ax above her head and brings it down to bare in the zombie's head. It growls defiantly a final time before going limp, the frightened twin still screaming beneath it. "Trish! Thank god!" Nicole rushes to free her sister, who silently thanks Jessica with a grateful nod. "All right, let's get out of here! You three go, I'll barricade the door behind me." Tracy orders the trio out of the large office, her now reloaded handgun trained on the head of another zombie. Jessica leads the twins out of the room, shoving aside a zombie that had wandered too close to the doors with her ax. Tracy follows shortly, slamming the door behind her. "We need something to hold the door in place. Hand me the ax!" She demands Jessica's only weapon, who is reluctant to give up her sole form of protection. "Come on, we either lock them in there or they keep coming after us." Tracy outstretches her free hand, Jessica relinquishing the ax without argument. She shoves it into the handle of the door, her hand ready at the ready should it prove insufficient. The ax rattles in place as the zombies pound at the door, but it holds steady. "Holy shit, that was close." Jessica sighs in relief before leaning against the wall for support. "Thank you two so much! I thought we were going to die in there." Nicole is the first of the twins, the station's rotating weather girls, to speak up. "If you hadn't stepped in when you did..." Trish says timidly to Jessica, not dwell on the dreadful thought. "It's alright, we're safe now. But where are Lily and the others? They should be back by now. I hope nothing has happened." Jessica remarks on their compatriots' absence, the act of rescuing the twins definitely should've given them enough time to return. "God damn it, I knew it was a bad idea for Lily to go off without me." Tracy swears at this latest development but has no idea how they should proceed. Z) CYOA If you vote A, who all should search for the others: 1) Tracy, possessing the only real weapon, she is the best bet to assist the others if they are still around plus she is the most proficient in combat. 2) Jessica, she won't hesitate to dispatch of a zombie and is a quick thinker, but she has no weapon. 3) Nicole, she seems to be the more composed of the twins yet the more reckless of the two as well, she might need to an eye kept on her if she hopes to make it out alive. 4) Trish, the more soft spoken of the two, she is also more cautious than her sister, she has no real combat experience and tends to panic when in distress, she should be watched closely to ensure nothing happens to her. "If they're in trouble, it might be better for all of us to help them." Jessica suggests searching together, splitting up before hadn't had the best results. "I don't like it, but you have a point. I don't know how long that door is going to hold, I wouldn't want anybody to be stuck here if the bastards got through." Tracy reluctantly agrees with her, though to Jessica as if she would prefer to leave them behind. Come on, we can't be doubting anybody right now. Lily and Kimberly are counting on us.
"Keep your eyes out for anything that might be useful as a weapon, I don't like the idea of you three running around defenseless. Let's go." Tracy assumes the lead, being the only among the four to possess a weapon. Nicole and Trish follow close to Tracy, the twins holding one another's hand for moral support. Jessica designates herself lookout by bringing up the rear but staying close enough to the group so that she can't be separated. They proceed as quickly as they can to avoid being taken by surprise, eventually reaching the area Lily and Kimberly had been previously.
Tracy immediately signals them all back around the corner however, the color draining from her face by what she had witnesses. "What was it?" Nicole asks quietly should there be zombies in the vicinity. "I have no idea, but it's huge. Whatever the hell it is, it has something wrapped in two cocoons against the wall. It looks like it's eating something right now." Tracy describes their new foe as best she can, its unnatural features garnering expressions of doubt from her cohorts.
"Where did it come from?" Trish asks as they continue wasting time in Jessica's eyes. "That doesn't matter, that might be Lily and Kimberly in those cocoons, did you see any bodies that resembled the two of them?" Jessica interjects to press them toward action, they can't waste any more time. "There were two crushed corpses, but neither of them looked familiar." Tracy's response relieves Jessica's concern, but they still have to deal with the creature somehow.
Just as Nicole is about to offer a suggestion, the piercing sound of rending metal echoes throughout the hall. "They must have broken through the door. Shit!" Tracy curses for the group, but this unlikely turn of events might be in their favor. The beast must have heard the disturbance as well, marching around the corner to investigate. The four women freeze in place , more of an instinctual reaction than voluntary. Perceiving the threat from a distance, it begins charging in the direction of the zombie horde, leaving the four of them stunned.
"Now's our chance!" Jessica regains her composure first, darting around the corner to aid the people in the cocoons. She notices a knife on the ground next to the cocoon on the left, taking it in hand to carve through the silk. Lily gasps for air as she welcomes the light, coughing up the few small strands that she had inadvertently inhaled. "Lily!" Jessica rejoices at the sight of her colleague, working quickly to free the rest of her body. "Kimberly's in the other one, help her out." She points Jessica to the form against the opposite wall, the woman within still struggling vehemently to escape.
"Don't worry Kim, I'm here." Jessica cuts a line down the length of the silk, setting her friend free." Jess! Thank god." Kimberly hugs the woman gratefully, but Tracy cuts the reunion short. "Glad to see everybody's safe, but we need to get the hell out of here. I don't want to be here when that thing comes back and sees we've disturbed his quarry." Everyone agrees wholeheartedly, but Lily first asks if they have seen Mark.
"Don't tell me that's him..." Kimberly points to a mangle corpse next to the elevator doors whose outfit matches that of the man's. "Mark..." Lily remarks somberly, reflecting on the short time she'd known him. Jessica quietly returns the switchblade to Lily as a small consolation. "We'll grieve later, we have to go." Tracy presses the call button for the elevator, its doors slowly grinding open despite the damage they've sustained. The five of them crowd into the elevator, riding it to the lobby in silence as the hope of escape draws near.
_________
The doors open to reveal scattered corpses and roving zombies, the station now belonging to the undead. "Oh shit..." Nicole whispers from within the elevator, drawing her sister in close. "Damn, I wasn't counting on this." Tracy says aloud, though only Lily seems to be the only one that hears it. She must be talking about making our way out of the building.
"How are we going to get past them?" Kimberly asks of everyone, open to any and all suggestions. "We take our chances and move as fast as we can. The longer we wait here, we give them more of a chance of discovering us." Tracy's suggestion is sound, but it still sounds like a suicide run to Lily. She hasn't steered us wrong yet.
"That's crazy." Jessica opposes the plan but is unable to offer up a suitable alternative. "We have to, it's the only way." Trish shows her support for the suicide run, making it a majority decision. "Let's go then!" Tracy sprints out of the elevator first, sidestepping the corpse of a young man cut down in his prime. Nicole and Trish pursue her next, the twins running as quickly as they can for the exit. Lily, Jessica, and Kimberly exit last, the three moving in unison to make their escape.
Their smooth escape is foiled however when Tracy is forced to fire at a zombie in her path, attracting the attention of every ghoul in the room. "Shit, come on!" She motions behind her for everyone to hurry now that their positions have been compromised. She reaches the lobby doors without further interference, barreling through them to the streets outside. Nicole and Trish follow suit, managing to avoid any zombies on their way out.
Unfortunately for the others, a solid wall of undead formed shortly ahead of them, blocking their path and forcing them to come to a stop. "How are we going to get past them?!" Jessica backs away from an encroaching zombie, bumping into Kimberly as they retreat further. "I don' know, but-look out!" Lily warns Jessica to look behind her as a zombie suddenly lunges forward, covering more ground than they'd ever though possible.
It tackles the reporter, carrying her two feet before dropping them both to the ground. "Ungh!" She struggles to keep the zombie at bay, unaware of another approaching from the side. Kimberly attempts to help her friend but places herself in peril due to her lack of a weapon. A zombie torso she had assumed dead springs into action by grabbing her ankle, a quick reaction on Kimberly's part narrowly saving her from being bitten. She holds the zombie's head by with both hands but leaves herself completely defenseless in the process. The zombies are approaching fast and offer little time for hesitation.
The only person still free from assault, Lily seems to be faced with whom she must save.

What the percentages represent here is the chance of that action succeeding. What I do is roll a 100 sided die and if it hits the aforementioned number or lower, the choice will be a success.
The chance of survival is also a separate check that will be performed at the beginning of the next update.
If it hits any number higher than the displayed numeral, the currently controlled character will perish or whatever is displayed in the text will befall them. (Ie: Chance of capture: 60%. The character would be capture if it hits 61 or higher.)

Okay, the dice was cast and the results are in....
With little time to spare, Lily lunges at the zombie holding Kimberly, jamming her blade into the top of its skull. It writhes in agony for a split second before falling motionless, Lily withdrawing the blade as soon as she is sure of its death. "Help Jess now!" Kimberly instructs her to move on, working quickly to free herself o the zombie's grip.
Lily moves past Kimberly to assist the other reporter but finds herself blocked by another of the undead bastards. She takes a step back to assess the situation before realizing there is no time to think. Driven by a long forgotten instinct, she throws herself headlong at the zombie. She turns around and strikes the zombie with her magnificent derriere, knocking it to the ground with a most powerful impact. Its head cracks open on the tiled floor, striking with enough force to liquefy its brain. Whoa! Where in the world did that come from?!
Taken aback by her own initiative, Lily quickly regains her composure to focus on the task at hand. Jessica is losing the battle with the zombie, its jaws only inches from her throat. Lily drives her knife into its temple, blood spurting out in a solid stream as life drains from it once more. She helps Jessica to push the zombie aside, helping the other reporter to her feet in the nick of time. She sends the woman off to Kimberly as she deals with yet another of the ghouls.
Lily smirks at the lone zombie approaching her before attempting the same maneuver that came so naturally previously. She leaps at the zombie, back side extended. As if propelled stricken by a unseen force, it bounces almost unnaturally off the reporter's bottom. It collides with a trio of zombies, their bodies entangled in a confused mass of flesh. I have no idea what's going on here, but I won't question it.
"Move! I'll clear the way." Lily motions for Jessica and Kimberly to step aside, charging the wall of zombies preventing their escape. She bowls over with the crowd with a triumphant bump, never losing her stride as she continues running for the door. The other two women gaze in awe but decide there will be time for discussion later as they must still make it to safety.
"There you three are! We were about to head back inside to check on you." Nicole remarks upon the three of them exiting the station, which has fallen completely to the undead. "It was close, but Lily got us out of there." Jessica gives a congratulatory pat on the back, filling the woman with confidence. "It was nothing, but we should really get out of here. I don't wan-" As if drawn by the mere thought, a large cacophony of moans interrupts Lily's statement. Coming down the street in full force is the largest heard of zombies any of them have ever seen, the two lane street filled shoulder to shoulder with ghouls.
"Holy shit, what do we do?!" Kimberly panics as she stumbles backward. "Find shelter or run, that's about it for now." Tracy coldly replies, unfazed by their newest obstacle.

After choosing where they'll go next, should they search for weapons for the remaining reporters?
1) Search some of the cars for weapons, some of their doors are open so they won't have to worry about them being locked. (-10%, but armaments are guaranteed for a few of the women)
2) Proceed as they are, they don't have the luxury of time. (Same chance, but the majority of the group will remain unarmed)
Edit: Just because I'm bored at work, I'm also going to list the special ability of each character if they have one.
Lily: She possesses the powerful booty bump ability, it increases her chances of survival and actions all around above that of the other survivors.
Kimberly: It hasn't manifested itself yet, but zombies remain more passive than usual around Kimberly. It isn't a lot, but it helps out with dealing with any kind of zombie problem.
Jessica: In contrast, Jessica possesses the trait of making zombies more aggressive. This can be both a hindrance and a blessing as it might make her an easier target for zombies, but they're also more likely to attack anything else in the vicinity, whether it be human or otherwise.
Nicole/Trish: The twins ability is a bit different as it requires both of them present to be active. When they're together, non-human enemies in general are more likely to ignore them.
Tracy: She actually doesn't have an ability, she is simply the most combat proficient of the group.
Some of the abilities haven't been shown yet, but they'll be revealed in due time. I'm doing this to make each character a bit more unique so let me know what y'all think.

Now I ask to give y'all a little bit of input, the group is going to be meeting up with Jessie and Brad soon, but I want to know what should be happening when they meet them. Should they be in a fight for their lives or should the encounter start off on a more peaceful note? Something else because I'm bored, would anybody like to see more reporters later on? The station possessed more than the 6 we have now.

The rolls have come out favorable so it would seem that they have avoided trouble for the time being. "We'll trap ourselves if we try to hide anywhere near here. We need to run." Lily voices her opinion first, the rest of the group agreeing unanimously. "Before we do anything though, we need to find everybody a weapon. I'm sorry to say it, but anybody without one is dead weight." Tracy, ever the pragmatist, lays out their next course of action. "We can search these cars for anything useful, it doesn't look like anybody bothered to clear them before they fled." She tests the handle on a faded brown truck, the door opening with a loud moan. She proceeds to search the cab for anything of use, ushering the rest of the women to do the same. Lily tries her hand with a gray Volkswagen van, but it remains locked even after she jolts the handle several times. The results are the same with the next two cars. Hopefully the others are having better luck. She is about to search another car when the moans of the encroaching horde grow louder, prompting her to end the search. She returns to the center of the street and calls for the others, they've run out of time. "I'm here." Kimberly is the first to return to her side, a crowbar in hand. The weapon seems a bit unwieldy for the reporter, but it is more than sufficient to cave in a zombie's skull. "I found this." Nicole and Trish return next, the more outgoing of the two brandishing a claw hammer. "It's all we could find in a toolbox we searched." Trish explains just as a sudden scream grabs their attention. They rush up the street toward the source of the scream, finding Jessica under siege by a zombie that had hidden a car. "Ungh, let go!" She tries in vain to kick free with her heels, but its grip is too strong. "I've got you!" Nicole steps forward and drives the hammer into the side of the its head, embedding the claws several inches within. The zombie's grip loosens slightly, but it remains steadfast in its mission. She pries the hammer loose and strikes once more, finishing the ghoul with a sickening thwack. "Thanks, I didn't even hear the bastard when I approached the car." Jessica thanks her savior, but the celebration is cut short as the herd is now only three car lengths away. "We've got to go now." Nicole urges the group to flee, but Lily notices that Tracy is nowhere to be seen. "Where's Tracy at? Did you see her?" She asks of Jessica as they had gone in the same direction. "I thought I saw her heading for an alley, but I lost track of her when that thing got me." Her reply is not what Lily wanted to hear, but there don't have any more time. They flee further into the city just as the sound of gunfire fills the air.... _____________ "I've arrived at the target's last known location, proceeding inside now." Rachel radios in her current situation to her handler before climbing the stairs of the urban apartment building. The building is a standard three story dwelling, its color faded from age. Rachel cracks the front door slightly before placing the barrel of her gun in first, just as she'd been trained before her mission. I still can't believe they gave me this as my first assignment, I've never even been face to face with a zombie! She bursts through the door into the entrance lobby, suppressing the urge to shout as she does so. The lobby is empty and devoid of any signs of recent foot traffic, most of its occupants likely having fled when the announcement to evacuate was made. This is good, maybe my chances of actually making it out of here alive have improved. The blonde agent knows very well she had the lowest odds of survival for this assignment of all available agents, she'd glimpsed the files without her superiors knowing. There were more than a dozen better qualified available people, some of which had a survival chance as high as 99%, yet she'd been chosen with a mere chance of 8%. I know it's because that bitch found out I was sleeping with her husband, I just know it. He said nothing would happen, yet here I am. I swear I'll kill her if I make it out of here alive... Rachel silently curses her old boss before calling the elevator, ignoring her surroundings due to a false sense of security. Distracted by the light of the approaching elevator, she fails to hear the shuffling of footsteps behind her. Just as the doors slide open to accommodate her, a large zombie attacks from behind. "Aaah!" Rachel screams out in surprise as the zombie tackles her into the elevator. The stature of the zombie is nearly twice the size of Rachel's slender form, offering quite the disadvantage in the newly cramped area. She attempts to use the zombie's momentum against it by pivoting, but she lacks strength to do so. She is slammed headfirst into the rear wall of the elevator, a large gash newly opening on her forehead from scraping against metal inside. This works her advantage however as her head jerks backward and collides with the zombie's nose, knocking it off kilter as well as freeing her from its grip. Shakily clutching her handgun, she turns to face the zombie and fires two consecutive shots into its face. She breaths a sigh of relief while dabbing her wound with her free hand, revealing a free flow of blood down her forehead. Shit that hurts, god damn it.... She commands the elevator to the second floor, leaning against the elevator wall for support as she gently rubs her wound. This isn't good, my vision's already getting a little blurry. The elevator arrives at the second floor, Rachel shambling out of it in a daze. "I can't even see straight, what the fuck am I going to do now?!" She says aloud to herself, her frustration building alongside the pain in her head. Nevertheless she proceeds to room number 205, the room she'd been told she could find her target. "I'm here at 205 command, how should I proceed?" She radios her handler but receives only static in return. "Are you fucking kidding me?! They couldn't even give me working equipment?" In a moment of pure agitation, she removes the earbud and throws it on the ground, grinding it into fine pieces with the heel of her boot. "Gaaah!" She makes the mistake of venting her rage audibly, drawing the attention of the floor's other, more hostile inhabitants. Hearing their moans but unable to see them, Rachel cups her mouth with both hands. Not now, not now! Desperate to escape, she can hear voices inside the room, "... I came here to visit Cynthia, as you know I often do. We were at her place watching the news when we got word of the outbreak, but by then it was too late." Relieved by the presence of other people, she removes her ear from the door and begins pounding on it, not bothering to reveal her identity. She tests the knob once while doing so, but finds it locked. Screw Phenotrans, I'm done being their bitch. I'm putting in my resignation if I make it out of here.Nobody answers so she pounds the door again, this time saying, "Please let me in! There are zombies coming down the hall. I'll die if I stay out here." She pleads for them to unlock the door as a cluster of four zombies catches sight of her in the hall. "Quickly, get in here!" A Hispanic woman opens the door and pulls her inside by the hand, slamming the door shut behind her. "Oh my god, thank you so much. I thought I was done for." Rachel is tempted to hug the woman that opened the door but refrains as it might make things awkward. "What are you doing running around screaming?! You led them right to us." Another woman in the room scolds her for being so reckless, but Rachel ignores the rest of her lecture with an incredulous stare. Surprised by her stroke of luck, she locks eyes with her designated target. Isabella Keyes, I found her!The three of them fall silent as the zombies arrive at the door, clawing absently as they begin to force their way in. Rachel knows it's only a matter of time before they get in, but do these other two, she wonders.
